San Diego is holding its annual "Street Scene" this weekend, and though I'm
missing out on STP tonight, turns out there's going to be a Jimi Hendrix
Tribute tomorrow night on the main stage. I'm pretty impressed with the
lineup they assembled. Scheduled to appear:

    -Dave Navarro
    -Slash
    -Stephen Stills
    -Mick Taylor
    -Kenny Wayne Shepherd
-Tommy Shannon & Chris Layton (SRV's "Double Trouble" rhythm section)
-Cesar Rojas & David Hidalgo (of Los Lobos)
    -Vernon Reid & Corey Glover
    -Buddy Miles & Billy Cox
    -Ace Frehley

Since I'm working this event tomorrow night, at least I know I'll have some
    decent entertainment while I'm there.

Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

YOu missed out on STP bro. My 6th time seeing them, good as always. A little twist, they opened with Pink Floyd's Shine on you Crazy Diamond, which segued into Vasoline

Live was before STP and kicked serious ass. My new favorite Live band after STP. I was astonished.

Hendrix tribute would be cool, but it's too damned expensive to go more than one night to the Scene.

Yeah, the wife and I were supposed to work that night, but we were called on Thursday at the last minute asking if we would work a football game at Monte Vista H.S. in Spring Valley. They were really strapped for people, and though it hurt us in the hours, we did them the favor and worked the game instead. Wasn't a total loss. I got chase down some drunk kid who ran across the football field during the game, and there were shots fired that night after the gam.

Saturday night, I was stuck at the Best Buy stage, working the barricade for al the rap/r&b groups. I was pissed ! For the first 4 hours, it was all rap, the George Clinton came on, and after him was James Brown. All the good shit was happening at the Ford Stage.

And yes, I agree, it is too expensive to go every night. That's why I work for Staff Pro and get into shit like this for free. My poor wife...she's working the Best Buy stage again tonight, and has to put up with Ja Rule and Busta Rhymes. She's not happy.
