Well what would be the best thub humpin',skin thrashing piece of metal and snare that the beast from southern california has ever layed oak and flesh to?

IMO,it would have to be that B-52 of a cockpit/nuclear terminus/bone density breaking kit from 1981.

That's the fabled FAIR WARNING kit.

    All black and white.

    Bi-racial?

    Raiders?

    color blind?

Alex always has killer drum kit set up for the VH tours.

FAIR WARNING, DIVER DOWN, even the WACF tour the white setup was kool !

I liked his setup on the Monsters of Rock tour as well.

He has been absent for so long, I just hope we get to see him play live again and see his setup.

Yeah the black and white monster kit he used during Fair Warning was the best. Never owned any Octobans but always wanted some cause of this kit. Four bass drums!?! With loudspeakers built in!?! WTF? Always dug the fire extinguishers. Ya know, just in case...

    Remember the ice cube set?
Or how 'bout the Lips kit? Now that was cool.

All I know is that the kit in the video for "Finish Whatcha Started" sucked. Cha!

I think the Balance rig was pretty cool. Also Fair Warning and WACF.

I always thought that the Fair Warning kit was blue and white. Are we sure that it was black and white? I'll have to uncover some old posters and see for myself. Out.

Octobans usually come in sets of 8 (duh) but can be broken up. They are the long, small circumference drums that are very high pitched and individually tunable. It's funny, I don't think I've every heard Al use them, but they sure look cool!

Thanks Dan. Some of the pics I have were obviously taken in dark to bad lighting. If you were to look a one of my favorire old school posters of that set, you would swear it was blue and white. Anyway, I can sleep well tonight. Out.
