Just about every band that puts out several albums has at least one clunker. Here is my list.

Motley Crue-Generation Swine.(1997) Motley Crue reunited with Vince Neil, and they somehow manage to sound like the Smashing Pumpkins. Should have stuck with Corabi. I heard that they even recorded this album with Corabi, and then they erased his vocals, and then had Vince sing.

Doors- Full Circle (1972). After Morrison died, the remaining trio put out a really excellent album in '71 called Other Voices, it really sounded like the follow-up to LA Women. Full Circle, however, doesn't even sound like the Doors. It doesn't suck, it just is their weakest album, not enough hooks.

Aerosmith- Just Push Play. (2001) The bad boys of Boston really hit rock bottom with this album. Although, they haven't made a really great classic in almost two decades, at least they put out albums with at least one good song. This album sounds like something a fan of Pink or Justin Timberlake would dig.

    Metallica- Load (1997) Selloutica/Alternica

Def Leppard- X (2002). While Def Leppard haven't made a great album in years, since the death of Steve Clarke, they at least put out some pretty good rockin' albums. This CD sounds like something Brian Adams would release.

How about the latest Boston CD. Alot of people don't like "Walk On" from '94 but there's some really good stuff on it IMO. Way too much acoustic stuff on this new one, that "I Had A Good Time " is a real good song but that's about it. If you only release a album every 8 years, they should be a little stronger.

You mean other than Van Halen III?

I kind of liked Generation Swine. It has a few good songs on it. I actually like SATD 97 better than the original version.

AC/DC has an entire decade of bad albums.
    Sabbath has a bunch too.
Stones Black and Blue and Emotional Rescue pretty much suck.
Just about any band that's been around for a long time has a least one stinker.

    IMO:

    Dave Matthews Band - Everyday
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut (not bad but a real drop off from their classic work)
The Beatles - Let It Be (again, better then most bands albums but a loss of quality from The Beatles)

I think that may change with the rerelease of the album WITHOUT Phil Spector's production--just the true, live record.

As far as Motley Crue goes, New Tattoo makes Generation Swine sound like Sgt Pepper's!!!!!

Ozzy's last two studio records have been way below par. So was No Rest For the Wicked.

    I agree!!

And Hell, in my opinion "Let It Be" is MILES better than plenty of other bands' BEST records!!!! The Beatles RULE!!!!!

If I had to pick a couple of stinkers from great bands I would pick

-Van Halen / Van Halen III
    -Black Sabbath / Technical Ecstasy
    -The Who / It's Hard
    -Motley Crue / Generation Swine

Whoaaa Trigger......... Emotional Rescue kicks ass IMHO. I remember my dad buying that for me when it first came out. "Emotional Rescue, She's So Cold, Dance(Pt.1), Summer Romance".... Sorry dude, but an all time classic for me. Black and Blue has some good shit as well. "Melody, Hot Stuff, Memory Motel" all kick some major ass. If we want to talk about bad Stones albums let's say everything after "Undercover". "Dirty Work" and Bridges Of Babylon" ummmm...... yeah right? With the exception of a few highlights on "Steel Wheels" and "Voodoo Lounge", The Glimmer Twins haven't done anything relevant in the studio. Now, Live is a different story. Those geezers still put on one hell of a show!

Some interesting choices. Boston's Corporate America is a little different, but I like it quite a bit. I'd say it's their best album since Third Stage. I though Walk On absolutely blows, it's just slick fluff with no substance, abet great production. As for the Beatles, I think Let it Be is a classic the way it is, and re-releasing it without Phil Spector's killer production (hehe) would be like adding eyebrows to the Mono Lisa. For the list I'd like to add Billy Idol's album "Cyberpunk." The production and his voice sound good, but the songs are really underdeveloped

Give me Van Halen III any day over anything the likes of Limp Dogshit, Linkin' Park, or any just about any newer band since has put out.

Was it VH's masterpiece? Hell NO.
