I see a lot of people mentioned the Stones in the other thread. I love the Stones but wouldn't consider them hard rock - though they can rock hard

Anyway, some other stuff that I couldn't live without.

1. Goats Head Soup - the Stones. I love all their classic era stuff from Beggar's Banquet to Sticky Fingers. But for some reason the one which came next is the one I absolutely love from start to finish. Some Girls is awesome too.

2. Sergeant Pepper - The Beatles
3. The Fragile - Nine Inch Nails (my fav. album of the last 10 years)
4. Definitely, Maybe -Oasis
5. Kiss This - Sex Pistols (Bollocks plus other stuff)
6. Music For The Jilted Generation - Prodigy
7. Dig Your Own Hole - Chemical Brothers
8. Nihil - KMFDM
9. Front By Front - Front 242
10. Second Coming - Stone Roses

Totally agree on Goats Head Soup. It's an album that gets derided along with It's Only Rock and Roll and Black and Blue for being the height of Keith's heroin addiction, and therefore not their best work. While I don't care for It's Only RnR, and I've only heard Black and Blue a few times, I think Goats Head is some of their coolest material. 100 Years Ago, Winter, and Silver Train are some of my favorite Stones songs ever. Good solid album front to back.

Anyway, blah blah blah from me.

Other albums that I'd say are essential would be;

Jackson Browne-Running On Empty

Bruce Springsteen-Live 75-85 (3 cd's)

The Beatles-Abbey Road

Blind Melon-Soup

The Who-Tommy

Counting Crowes-August and Everything After

Everclear-So Much For the Afterglow

Paul Simon-Graceland

Cool topic:

Rolling Stones/Exile on main St.
The Beatles/White Album,1(tie)
Bruce Sprinsteen/Gratest Hits
Cheap Trick/ Any!
Pink Floyd/Dark side of The Moon
Rolling Stones/Sticky fingers
ABBA/Gold (I know what some of you will say but I love the music they made!!!)
Tom Petty and the heartbreakers/Gratest Hits
BTW, I do buy a lot of gratest hits cd's..it's better than to scramble to find the whole collection on cd...it's cheaper though!

U2/The Joshua Tree
REM/Automatic for the People
Billy Joel/Vol.1 and 2
Do you think we migth still have to wait anyway?
