QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, AUDIOSLAVE Rumored For PEARL JAM Hometown Gig - Oct. 23, 2002

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and AUDIOSLAVE are rumored to be supporting PEARL JAM at their first hometown show since October 2001 at Seattle's Key Arena on December 8.

PEARL JAM's new album, "Riot Act" is due on November 12 through Epic Records. A world tour will kick off in February in Australia, with North American dates expected to begin by mid-spring. A November 14-15 stint on "The Late Show With David Letterman" has also been confirmed.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, AUDIOSLAVE A No-Go For PEARL JAM Benefit Gig - Oct. 25, 2002

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and AUDIOSLAVE will NOT be supporting PEARL JAM at their first hometown show since October 2001 at Seattle's Key Arena on December 8, according to Pearl Jam Rumor Pit.

"Even though someone's brother's sister-in-law's cousin's best friend's mother says AUDIOSLAVE and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE are the opening acts for PEARL JAM at the upcoming Key Arena benefit show in Seattle, it's not true," reads an October 24 posting on the site. "It's a 99.899999349999567999% false rumor. [margin of error intentional - hey, it's rock 'n' roll, not rocket science. ] The opening acts have yet to be named and we'll be sure to post the info when the time comes."

I think Audioslave should be able to run with the ball themselves, no problem, and if they want to hook up with another cool group or two, all the better, just keep the price reasonable.

Yeah, it would have been cool for some kind of Temple of the Dog semi-reunion jam, especially live on stage in Seattle, and even if they're not playing together at this gig, I hope they all still get along well enough to possibly make it happen someday.
