the hulkamaniac brother wants to know what hapeend to our rock over the years. Where is the ass kicking guitars and cool songs like metal health, the price, little fighter, pour some sugar on me, slick black cadillac, take me to the backseat, 40 boys in 40 nights, crazy train, turn up the radio, etc...

The new crap that passes for rock and roll sucks. I guess when we all sold out and cut our hair that we lost the ability to rock and roll and be cool brothers.

Great f*ckin' question!! I've been asking the same question for quite a while. Right now is the perfect time for a new "ROCK AND ROLL" band to come onto the scene and give the current state of music a big, steel toed, kick in the ass. How about it Eddie? We need you man. Let me take my 8 year old son to his first real Rock and Roll concert. I feel sorry for the youth of America. What bands out there today are going to be around 20 years from now? None!!!! The music of today just plain sucks and unfortunately kids today think it's the shit. Luckily for my two sons, they have a huge catalog of my music CDs and videos to explore when they so desire. I'll be the one exposing them to real Rock and Roll and not this lame boy band, rap, bubble gum, fluff that is being packaged as the hot, new music. Please Lord, bless the beasts and the children

It's laid up in some hospital in critical condition somewhere, taken one too many blows. One blow came when the FCC decided that an entity could own as many radio stations as they wanted - damn near all of them if they chose - and so they could churn out the same pre-programmed pablum in every market in the nation. Another blow was when M-TV forgot what the "M" stood for. Another blow was when producers and others decided it was easier to sample a song that had already been a hit instead of hiring real, talented musicians to actually write and play new music. Another blow was when all the record companies merged together and established rock acts who wanted fair and equitable contracts were sent packing in favour of pre-fabricated "flavour of the day" bands who will wake up one day to find they are penniless while the managers and accountants party on.

So...
...I cut about 18 inches of my hair off a coupla weeks ago. I was onstage ready for the 1st set when a guy comes up and says, "Didn't you used to have long hair"? I said, "Yeah, but it was time to cut it again". His next question was, "Do you still play Rock N Roll"?

It`s unfortunate but I wouldn`t be surprised if we never get our real R&R back . The music industry and media is alot different know than the eightes and we all know that you`ve got to be a hot chick ,cute little boy band or an angry gangsta rapper to get anywhere in the biz today . I don`t think teenagers want a fun R&R band like old VH , Motley Crue , old Kiss , Zeppelin . It`s alot cooler these days for them to glamorize the Eminems ,JayZs and DMXs those acts have a tough image and the kids feel tough and hip amongst their freinds followindg that type of image . Sad but True

As long as the older CD's are out there, real Rock WILL NOT DIE!

I know many people my age get more pumped up listening to Master of Puppets, Dr. Feelgood, or Symphony of Destruction than any nu-metal shit.

If I have to listen to the radio...its talk radio. I'd rather hear comments on world events than Papa Roach ripping off Iron Maiden..

The White Stripes and The Hives are getting it done? Please. Don't believe the hype my friend. These bands are hyped up because the current state of rock and roll is in the crapper. The music industry is trying to portray them as the next big thing in rock and roll in a lame attempt to keep rock and roll from going under. Let see if these bands are still around in 20 years. I guarantee you they won't be. Times are bad.

The Real Deal
Absolutely true with no embellishment!
Let's see...
Won't Get Fooled Again(The Who)
Feel Your Love Tonight
Little Dreamer
Dreams(Molly Hatchet)
Somebody Get Me A Doctor
Mean Street(Board tape of intro coming soon...)
Something(Beatles)
Bell Bottom Blues(Clapton)
Blurry(PoM)
Control(^^^)
It's Been Awhile(Staind)
I Want You(Beatles)
Hey You(BTO)
How You Remind Me(Nickelback)
...just to name a few...
I hate to play the same worn out classic stuff(we do play worn out new stuff)like a lot of bands around here. We used to play "You Got That Right" to give folks their Skynyrd fix but amazingly, if you don't play "Sweet Home Abalama" the peoples get pissed!
I like to treat classic songs like an old friend: everybody remembers but haven't heard it in many years.
When people request Skynyrd or Eagles, I tell them that we are not a country band. That shows ya what the industry(Nashville anyways)has done to music. I played country music for 8 years(for the $$$. I know, I'm goin' to hell)and that genre has been TOTALLY BENT OUTTA SHAPE! Rockers don't have a bitch when it comes to the fucked-up state of things.
I'm thinkin bout changin my sig...
VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR

And one last thing:
Don't cut your hair. I have so-called friends that won't even speak to me now. Some say it is 'gay'. My response? BEND OVER!!
signed,
not gay(not that there's anything wrong with it)
