Ryan Adams Not Amused by Similarity of His Name to 1980s Rocker Bryan Adams

    The Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Oct. 16 — Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams is not amused by the similarity of his name to 1980s rocker Bryan Adams.

At a Ryan Adams concert at the Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday, somone in the audience yelled out a request for "Summer of '69," a Bryan Adams hit.

Ryan Adams, former leader of the band Whiskeytown, reacted with stream of expletives and ordered the house lights turned on, The Tennessean newspaper reported.

The alternative country musician found the fan who made the joke request, paid him $30 cash as a refund for the show, ordered him to leave and said he wouldn't play another note until that happened.

Ryman general manager Pam Matthews stopped the fan on his way out, "apologized profusely" and allowed him back into the concert.

    The fan kept Adams' $30.

    alrighty then....

Hmm...what the heck is "alternative" country? Shucks, I live in Nashville but am not a big BIG country music fan, but I've never heard of alternative country...weird.

and yes Dennis, this Ryan Adams fellow is quite a putz. Good thing is this fan got to stay and got $30 of ol' Ryan's cash.

I would have taken the $30, left the arena and went to the local record store. I would then buy Bryan Adams' Greatest Hits and mailed it to Ryan Adams with a note saying 'From your #1 fan!'.

That's a pretty stupid thing to do. You'd think he would have gotten used to it by now or at least come up with some witty responces for things like that.

Does anyone else have a hard time listening to music by people you know are bad human beings? For example, I love Skid Row but in every interview I've seen Sebastian Bach just bugs me and it ruins my perception of the music.

I saw this half-wit open of rAlanis Morissette a few months back on the first date of her tour in San Diego. The moron barely, and by "barely" I mean he, like, grunted, spoke a word to the audience the entire time he was on stage. He was drunk, and just kept mumbling incorently.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

That sounds like a pretty good description of Alanis herself and her "singing."

And yes, Ryan Adams is a bonehead.
