Tend to agree with you on Megadeth, I cant figure out why they dont get more press or air play.

Here's my short list of underratted bands..or artists..from various decades and styles:

(in no particular order of rank)

    1. The Kinks (Kick ass guitar AND vocal arrangements and a hard edge for their time...Often overlooked for other more popular "British Invasion" bands...ie: The Beatles, The Who...)

    2. Creedence Clearwater Revival (These guys just plain ROCK and are often overlooked for their contributions to rock. Awesome lyrics and killer arrangements...Get yourself some CCR)

    3. Madness (When people think of ska nowadays, they think of No Doubt, Goldfinger, Smashmouth, etc... Everyone forgets the band Madness who had 2 AMAZING first albums...These guys were the King of ska in the late 70's and early 80's and made it accessible again and certainly influenced the before mentioned groups of today)

    4. Leo Kottke (Everyone here is probably going Leo WHO??? But if you like the guitar even remotely, you better get to know this man! He is my SECOND favorite guitarist of all time and nevr even had a top 10 hit. He plays mostly acoustic 6 and 12 string guitar, but MAN can he play! the man is AMAZING! One man playing solo guitar and making it SOUND like there are at least 3 guitars playing at once! His best album is his first one. It came out in 1969 (pre- Eddie days) and it is called Leo Kottke 6 & 12 String Guitar I think..I have it at home. It is black with an Armadillo on it.

if you do NOTHING else all day, at LEAST do yourself the favor of checking out Leo Kottke! A truly AMAZING guitar player without even having to ever "plug in")

    That's my list...

    - Iced Earth

These guys would be HUGE if their new album came out in 1986.

Hey Rxman, nice to see a fellow Dada fan. They are vastly underrated and have chops for days. Great songs too!!
