Anybody here like these guys? "Hold On Loosely", "So Caught Up In You", and "Back To Paradise" were just great songs, IMO. Nothing really groundbreaking, just great songs.

These guys rock. Their songs bring back a lot of memories from high school. Bands like them, Lynard Skynard, The Allman Brothers, and Molly Hatchet (aka as "southern rock") are a guilty pleasure of mine.

I like most Southern Rock, except Molly Hatchet....that singer has the most nasal tone on earth. BTW, it's Lynyrd Skynyrd, not Lynard Skynard.

Great band! Lost alot of popularity when they changed lead singers for awhile, but got back on track when Don Barnes came back. I saw them at Sturgis in 98'. Great live show. Jeff Carlisi is one hell of a guitarist.

.38 Special were the first band I ever bought on vynil.
Tour de Force was the record, I was 12 and I had to collect the money from my parents'gifts to buy it.
I still love that record, If I'd been the One, Back where you belong were exceptional for me. Memories I'd say, I still remember seeing their videos here in Italy.
After that record I bought their entire collection, and saw their lineup changin' through times; their first three records were mostly soundin' southern rock, and I believe they are their best records. 38 Special, Special Delivery and the legendary Rockin' Through the Night are exceptional. Then they got more commercial with Wild-Eyed Southern Boys, Special Forces and Tour De Force, but these records contain their best hits. They had Strength by Numbers then, with another hit, and then the collection (Flashback), with a new single (Back to Paradise, from The Revenge of The Nerds soundtrack, and a Bryan Adams song), then they changed lineup. Rock'n'Roll Strategy and Bone Against Steel were good records, anyway. Resolution marked the return of Don Barnes, but the exit of Jeff Carlisi, which I believe is missed in Live at the Sturgis...

"If I Had Been The One" always reminds me of 1983, and being 12. Instantly takes me back. I remember the video too, the band playing out like in a field or something, or in front of a barn.

ddregs - I don't have the CD or the video of Live at Sturgis but Jeff Carlisi was there. I have been a huge fan of his since....way back!LOL I never knew he had left. When did that happen? Maybe he came back for just an appearance at Sturgis? He played superb that night.

Hi there Jeff5150, glad to meet you here.
So far, as my memory serves me, the band is (now):
    Don Barnes (lead guitar, vocals)
    Bobby Capps (keyboards)
    Gary Moffatt (drums)
    Danny Chauncey (guitar, vocals)
    Donnie Van Zant (vocals)
    Larry Junstrom (bass)
This is the lineup on the Resolution record, on their website and I was remembering for Live at the Sturgis too. I'm goin' back home to check it and I'll see what was written on the sleeve...

Great to know you've been at the concert, as you may know Italy never gets such great concerts...

Hey ddregs! Great to meet you too. I was there at Sturgis in 98'. I WAS drunk but not that drunk. The guitarist I saw looked alot like Jeff Carlisi. I will admit they NEVER mentioned his name though. I just assumed it was him. Anyways....still a great band. Loved the way they made the 2-drummer thing work. Not many bands could pull that off! Let me know what you find out.
