I've been debating this question for a while. IV is obviously near the top, the sound is awesome and every song is great, but there is also Physical Graffiti. The entire first disc is amazing and there are also some gems on the second disc. I don't know. I'll call it a tie.

It's close, but I'd take Physical Grafitti just ahead of Zep III.

IV is great too, but it almost seems that you shouldn't pick it just on principle; like being a die hard VH fan, picking 1984 seems wrong because that's the album that everyone owns.

I've never really thought of it that way. I just think that IV has kickass songs, attitude, and rocks from start to finish. Everyone has it because of Stairway To Heaven, but hopefully they realize what other good music is on the album. (Black Dog, Rock And Roll, Misty Mountain Hop, When The Levee Breaks, etc.)

Well I'm guilty on this one Glenn. Zoso is the only Zep cd I own. Go figure? Out.

I was just thinking about this today while listening to Zep 2. I used to think that Zep IV was the best without a doubt, but after listening to Zep 2 today ,and in recent days, I would have to call it a tie between 2 and IV.

I would have to say PG with I & II right behind.

Don't forget about Song Remains The Same, that's a killer album.

Everything on IV has been played to death. The only songs that I could still listen to on that album are When the Levee Breaks, Four Sticks & Misty Mountain Hop.

Picking a favorite Zep album is hard, almost as hard as picking a favorite VH album.

I think what 6String is saying is that they all KICK ASS, no? And I think he's right, but of course i'm Ledhead However in my later years I've come to love Presence even though they never really played those songs in concert (However Black Crowes with Jimmy Page did play Hots on for Nowhere, one of the best tunes on that album. And I recently got a P/P show from Tokyo where they played Tea For One).
As a lot have mentioned Physical is pretty sweet too. Side 3...In the Light, Ten Years Gone, Down By the Seaside. Zeppelin is awesome and if any of you had any sense you'd realize that Jane's Addiction is a modern day version of these guys. And lucky for you they are touring this summer. Don't miss 'em or you are blowing it! Oh, oh, oh summertime rolls...
