One of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time. So many classics--Breaking The Law, You've Got Another Thing Comin', Hot Rockin', Electric Eye... I don't care much for the post-Halford years, but I hope he returns.

I agree - great band. I love Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. A matter of fact I just had "Flight of Icarus" on before. Gotta love the NWOBHM.

How about the post-Priest years? Halford's Resurrection is the best metal album released in recent years. It's not Sad Wings of Destiny.........otherwise it would be called Sad Wings of Destiny

Priest lost me after Ram It Down, which really isn't a very good album in my opinion. I did see them live on the Painkiller tour and they were great, Halford was in top form. They played The Sentinal, which alone was worth the price of admission.

I think Hell Bent For Leather might be my favorite Priest album.

Definitely. His other post-Priest stuff has been either Pantera-like or NIN-like from what I've heard. Resurrection is pure classic metal - I don't know of anyone who has heard this album and doesn't like it. Unlike the recent Priest stuff which pretty much no one seems to like.

I love Live Insurrection by Halford, even tho that one has studio overdubs. Still, superb production by one of my fav guitarists, Roy Z, again.

Priest is cool, and so is Maiden.

Oh yeah... and Roy Z also is Bruce Dickinson's solo guitarist and producer.

My favorite part:
While facing one another
The standoff eats the time
When all at once a silence falls
when the bell ceases its chime
On this side the challengers
with shrieks and cries rush forth
The lives fly out like bullets
upon their deadly course
Screams of pain and agony
rent the silent air
Among the dying bodies
blood runs everywhere
A figure stands expressionless
impassive and alone
Unmoved by his victory
Where the seeds of death be sown
Love should NOT be work, it should be as easy as breathing Dave's Dreidel

My god, our government has less secrets than Van Halen. Emperor Brett

Me too, Darkstar. I liked British Steel, didn't care for Point Of Entry (they were looking for the pop metal recipe that Bon Jovi discovered), and Screaming is flat-out kick-ass!

Ram It Down was pretty lame, and thought they were on their way back with Painkiller....oh well.

I also heard the new Demolition sucks--I'll just have to borrow from my brother sometime.

What bugs me about Priest now, is all the re-issues that are coming out with bonus tracks!
Just put it all on 1 CD and make more money that way!

Hell yeah! Resurrection kicks major ass. I like "locked and Loaded" as well as the title track and "The one you love to Hate" with Dickinson. Awesome stuff. Classic metal at it's finest.

Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

Don't go repeatin' that on Judas Priest's official message board. It's 100 times worse than VH's Pleasure Dome. It's not real time (your messages won't appear right after you post them) and it's maintained by their manager herself, Jayne Andrews! Just imagine if Ray Danniels was still managing VH and was overseeing the Pleasure Dome.
