I'm not sure if anyone here is into these guys, but I think they are amazing, and have a great, great message/direction the last 3 albums.

The tracklisting for the new album is:
1. Can't Keep
2. Save You
3. Love Boat Captain
4. Cropduster
5. Ghost
6. I Am Mine
7. Thumbing My Way
8. You Are
9. Get Right
10. Green Disease
11. Help, Help
12. Bushleaguer
13. 1/2 Full
14. Arc
15. All or None

The songs have been leaked, so you can probably find them using winmx and kazaa. I think the album is incredible. The first two songs are uptempo and really catchy. Nothing great, but really peppy and danceable songs with a great beat.

Love Boat Captain is an 'all you need is love' type song, slower and peaceful.

I Am Mine, the single, which you may have heard is a really cool song. I've listened to it many times and I'm not even close to sick of it. The guitar solo at the end is great, and vintage PJ. The song is reminiscent of Daughter, but with an introspective message.

'You Are' is probably my favorite track on the album, supposedly written by Matt Cameron. It sounds electronica, and really really different for a Pearl Jam song, the way the guitar sounds. It's so different and off the wall for PJ, that it works in a great way.

'Thumbing My Way' is another slow one. I only heard a live version of it from a solo Ed performance, so I'm not sure what the album version is like. Pretty cool song from what I heard.

The next couple songs I haven't really gotten into. 'Bushleaguer' is probably my second favorite. It's got a mean riff to start the song. It's basically an anti-Bush song, judging by the lyrics. Some really cool imagery and analogies in the lyrics, a very political song.

'1/2 Full' is a great bluesy tune. Guitar reigns in this song, and Mcready really shows off his bluesy chops.

'Arc' is a weird 1 minute indian type chanting.

'All or None' is slowly becoming one of my favorites of the album, kind of like an epic, sweeping closer, with a really catchy melody.

Overall, I think this is there best album since VS. I would rank them:
VS
Ten
Riot Act
Yield
No Code
Binaural
Vitalogy

I can't wait until the real thing comes out November 16th. Oh wait, I already have it!

Cool. I have every PJ album except Binaural (and the 72 official live bootlegs ). I'm looking forward to this one. The only song I've heard is I Am Mine but I'm going to try to download the whole thing.

Here's how I'd rank their albums:

Vs.
Ten
Vitalogy
Yield
No Code

Binaural (can't rank). I didn't include Live On Two Legs, but it's pretty good.

I got to hear one of the new songs from PJ's newest album (sorry I can't remember which one and it sounded pretty good)

I liked Binural but it seems like it was a very dark moody album to me..I hope it's more like the older stuff

I wasn't impressed with the song I heard on the radio (either it was a crappy satellite download or Eddie's decided not to sing very loudly). I'll still give the record a listen.

I don't know if you caught it, but they've written a song about the late Layne Staley that's going to be left unreleased for the time being. If I find a title for it, I'll pass it along. It might wind up on the internet.

I think I got the last minute of their new song on the way to work this morning....i'll have to give it a full listen before I issue judgement

Their first two albums totally rocked.....I'm ready for a PJ album that reminds me of them.

It does man, it's a lot like earlier PJ, especially with Mcready's guitar work. It's not as dark as their last album, but they continue with the political themes. I think the guitar work is really spot on in this album.

The best part is probably 'You Are', a great, refreshing direction for the band. When you first hear it you think 'this CAN'T be Pearl Jam', but it works and it's awesome. It should be their next single. I can count at least 3 or 4 songs that could be singles.

Eh? Pearl Jam is still around? Didn't they stop being relevant after their third album?

In mainstream pop culture, yes, they pretty much dropped off after Vitalogy, but had some hits here and there (Given to Fly, Last Kiss). Their lyrics and message are more relevant and important now than they ever were, and more so than 99% of the disposable crap that's out there today.

Pearl Jam are one of if not the best rock band out there right now, IMHO. I was really into Ten and Vs., not so much with Vitalogy, and never listened to No Code, Yield, or Binaural. But I find it refreshing that a band like pearl jam can still deliver so long after grunge died. And actually, compared to the current music backdrop, I think they sound even better
