What a great CD... I am hard pressed to pick a favorite, because I love them all, but if I had to choose from best to not-so-best, here's how it would go:

Diary Of A Madman
Over The Mountain
SATO
Tonight
Believer
Little Dolls
You Can't Kill Rock And Roll
Flying High Again

It never really got any better than this...

Totally agree, the best studio album that Ozzy ever put out by far. Thank god Sharon forced Ozzy and Randy back into the studio to record this album, or Blizzard would have been the only gem they produced.

My favorite songs on it are Diary of a Madman, Tonight, Over the Mountain, Little Dolls, shit the whole damn thing.

What a shame that Randy died so young without having the chance to continue his brilliance.

My favorite Ozzy album is No More Tears, i'm not that big of a Rhoads fan. Over The Mountain is a great song though.

Wow, tonight is Ozzy Night. There are 3 threads about him tonight.

I listened to Diary Of A Madman yesterday and was reminded how great it was. S.A.T.O. is an awesome song, I rank it #1.

Has anybody heard those remastered Ozzy albums that came out a few years ago? Are they an improvement over the original cd versions of the albums?

Sort of. They just turned up the levels a bit. Don't be in a hurry to buy them though, Ozzy wants his entire cataloge (not sure if that will include Ozzmosis or just everything up to Live and Loud), remastered again. Sharon and their record label better be careful... they don't want to pull a Motley Crue and reissue the same 'ole situa... sorry, material 87 times.

I agree that Randy was fantastic, although Zakk was the one that got me interested in Ozzy, and he'll be the only one that keeps my interest in Ozzy. I might be a little off of par here, but didn't Randy want to leave the band after the Diary tour to go back to school and become a music professor?

I guess we've all heard various interpretations of this. Sail Across the Ocean, Sail Away To Oblivion etc

Just the other day I heard a new one, from Sharon Osbourne no less:

Sharon Arden Thelma Osbourne

the name's of Ozzy's two wives. Though it's probably destined to never be resolved like N.I.B. from Sabbath, even though they gave the meaning in several interviews.

S.A.T.O. does stand for Sailing Across The Ocean. It's in the lyrics.

No it isn't.

There's no "across" or "ocean" in the lyrics that I can hear. If you read them, one interpretation is moving from one life (bad marriage, drugs, fired by Sabbath) to another better one. He's often stated that Sharon saved his life.

I rarely post here, but I wanted to add that Diary of a Madman is my favorite Ozzy album. I say album because I still have the one I bought when it first came out.

Randy Rhoads is my 2nd favorite guitar player, and I remember the day he died in the plane crash. I just missed seeing them in STL that tour.

You're right. My boo-boo. For years I never had a clue what it stood for, but somewhere recently, I found out it was for sure Sailing Across The Ocean. Cant remember where though.

As for N.I.B.-"nib" was what they called Sabbath drummer Bill Ward's beard.
