Maybe this was discussed before, but I found the following very interesting:
I found this quote in a Q&A with Trevor from around 98:
--
Q: Have you ever worked with Eddie Van Halen, perhaps on the "Twister" score? If not, would you consider it?
A: Eddie Van Halen and I are good friends, and although we haven't worked together yet, he paid me a great musical compliment by using the opening to "Eyes of Love" on the last Van Halen CD (instrumental). We have also talked about the possibility of me producing them.

Are there any other Trevor Rabin Fans here, and does anybode else think it would be fucking great to hear them play together sometimes?
I'm a huge Trevor Rabin fan, and I think it would be fantastic if he produces the next VH Record!!
Cheers, Marko

I am going to piss off many die-hard Yes fans by saying this, but I like Trevor Rabin's guitar playing much much better than anything I have ever heard Steve Howe play. "90125" and "Big Generator" by Yes w/Trevor Rabin are two great CD's, IMO...

It would be very cool to have Trevor Rabin involved in producing Van Halen - and it would be even cooler if he and Eddie ever recorded together!

I heard some TR solo stuff years ago and it was great!

It would be great Ed doing album with Luke, Rabin, Gabriel, and all the other musicians he's been buds with over the years,

Yep, Trevor kicks ass. I've got 90125, Big Generator, and his solo effort Can't Look Away. He is an awesome musician.

Rabin's good but he ain't no Steve Howe. It's too bad they couldn't both stay in Yes.

Thanks for the update, six! Not even released and it's already out of stock!

I can't wait! I think tomorrow will be a Rabin-era Yes day (to include Live In LA and Can't Look Away).

Okay, it's official: I am addicted to Jacaranda. This album is brilliant! Typically, I'm not a fan of instrumental rock music, but this is just different. Trevor's McLaughlin-esque melodicism is all over the place. He really, really loves the Dobro, as it appears on just about every track. Lou Molino III is here, as is Trev's son Ryan.

Jacaranda is inventive, clever, and challenging. I know those might be buzzwords for "not easily digestible" or "this album probably sucks", but it doesn't suck. It sucks you in. It's addicting. If you like Trevor, give it a try. It took me one listen to like it and two to love it.

Now, for a little McLaughlin-esque brilliance, here's Trevor's solo during Yes' 1991 Onion tour:

Not his best, but...well, why not?

^^^^ BRILLIANT album and I'm addicted, as well. The guy never ceases to amaze me. He's just UBER talented. Even my wife loves this disc so it's safe to say that there's something here for everyone if you take the time to give it a spin.

What else just blows me away is the production. It's absolutely stellar. Very inventive use of the studio, too.

I've always loved Trevor's playing but this record easily cements his place in my top ten of all-time.

Simply a jaw-droppingly good disc here...

Rabin is fantastic. One of the most talented musicians out there. Don't understand why he isn't mentioned more than he is. Right before Rabin joined Yes he had a hard rock album out where he was posing with a Les Paul and wearing spandex. Every hardcore Yes fan I knew freaked out ( "HE'S GOING TO BE IN YES?! NOOOOOOOO") LOL He turned out to be a fantastic fit.

I would love to see him on one of those G3 tours. Plays 21 different instruments also.
