These are artists I think everyone should have a taste of in their collections...otherwise we end up with kids who think KORN is real music...

Mozart
Gipsy Kings-VERY important to have music NOT sung in English, imo...If you understand the feeling without knowing the words, that's a band you should be a fan of!
James Brown
Miles Davis
Andres Segovia
Beethoven
Duke Ellington
Elvis' FIRST album when he was supremely BADASS!!!
Any I missed?

So that means we aren't supposed to like or care about bands that were around more than 5 yrs. ago? Most music sucks these days anyway. One hit wonders and one chord players.
BTW....from what I hear on radio, I wouldn't pay a penny for a KORN,Lame Bisquick, or any of the other rap rock joker groups albums. Every KORN song has a negative atttitude. What's the point of what they are saying(notice I said "saying", not "singing"). Today's music just doesn't live up to the good rock of the past and there is no comparison. you just said what you ve heard on the radio see?......and ill never back down from this statement korn is NOT a rap rock band....on what songs does jd rap? korn is heavy and raw. and i said i like all thebands on the list...and actually limp bizkit was good on their first cd but fred durst has ruined the band since he controls every aspect of it and has sold out big time so yes limp bizket does suck...im just saying theres nothing wrong with new metal/rock....we should be talkin bout bad bands like lighthouse, saliva(rap rock),kid rock(rap rock),good charlotte, greenday(punk? yeeeeaaah right),third eye blind, linkin park(rap rock),crazy town(rap rock),papa roach(rap rock)......theres a ton of stuff that sucks out there....besides korns been around since early 94 so i wouldnt call them new. A couple bands/artist come to my mind that really should not only be in more people's cd players, but deserve much more success all around...

1. Marvelous 3 - Get their "Ready Sex Go" album. Really, I demand it... go get it. It's good pop rock (remember the days when we had that), that is just plain FUN.

2. Any Zakk Wylde - I know I've brought up his name a lot in the few posts that I've made, but this MF'er is simply amazing. Don't judge him just from his Ozzy stuff. In my opinion, his stuff w/ Ozzy was great, but his solo stuff (Pride&Glory, Solo, BLS), is just f**king awesome.

3. Collective Soul - They've toned their sound down a bit, which might turn some people off, but I'll always be a fan of 'em. And easily Van Halen's best ever opening band (some of the Balance tour).

4. The Verve Pipe - thrown in the "One Hit Wonder" category, but their "Villians" album is killer.
"These are not them, you've captured one of their stunt doubles"

....and the radio thing.....four or five singles heard on radio that I don't like, haven't heard the rest of it, but there's a half an album that I don't want to pay for,so why the hell would I buy it?

Perfect example is Linkin Park. One tune i've heard, nothing else. The way prices are on cd's today, i'm not gonna pay for it if the possibility of the rest of it sucking is there.
