Guys, JUST got back from a Huey concert here in SW Florida. Don't know how many of you are fans but I must say, Huey still rocks just as hard as he did in the 80's, and he put on a helluva show. Still releasing new material and still touring after 23 years. The new material is more bluesy and borrows from his experience in swing and R&B back in the day, but he still played alot of the old hits. The heart of rock n' roll is still beatin'!

Always thought that "Walking on a Thin Line" was a great, great song. Subject material and guitar riffs.

I like Huey Lewis & The News, they wrote a lot of great songs. The Heart Of Rock N' Roll and The Power Of Love are my favorite songs by them.

Man, they were as pop as it got, but I loved them. yeah, their later stuff definitely took a cool turn. Those guys had killer harmonies. Too bad half the original band has been replaced.

I didn't know that they were still together. Kudos to them for doing what they're doing for the love of music.

I got to see Huey Lewis & the News at Summerfest in Milwaukee back in 1997. They put on a great show - were only missing Mario the bass player at that point, I think they've had one other member leave since then. Played the majority of their hits (though not the aforementioned wonderful "Walking On A Thin Line").

It was an awesome show, has anyone heard the new album? I really wanted to hear "Hip to be Square" and "So This Is It?", but they didnt play 'em. Like Huey said jokingly, "So many hits, so little time, man!"

Huey Lewis is great!!!! Good people in the band too... I handled the main board for them at a couple of shows at the Keystone Palo Alto back in the early 80's. I was called in on the fly since the main engineer was sick... It was a tough mix for the room balancing out his horn section with the rest of the band but we dialed it in!! Ahhhh the good ole days!!!!

I think Mario left when his brother, John, died several years back. I think it's still Huey, Johnny, Chris, and Bill on drums. Am I wrong?

The current band is Huey, Bill Gibson, Johnny Colla, Sean Hopper, John Pierce on bass, Stef Burns(from Y&T) on guitar, Marvin McFadden on trumpet, Ron Stallings on saxophone, and Rob Sudduth on saxophone. Chris Hayes left shortly after the completion of their last album "Plan B," but sometimes fills in for Stef.

I did see them on the Fore! tour, and man did they put on a great show. A great bar-room band that made it big. Egos seemed to be in check, too. Gotta love'em.
