I'm not sure what to think of this, it's really no big deal but.......apparently Jason is going to sit in on a couple of Gov't Mule shows in April. I don't think he's going to do the whole show just like 4 or 5 tunes or more. Right now Mule is still without a bass player. Dave Schools (Widespread Panic) & Oteil Burbridge (Aquarium Rescue Unit & Allman Brothers) have been filling in for the late/great Allen Woody.

Anyway, this really threw me for a loop, I just have a hard time picturing Jason playing jamband stuff.....but we'll see, he might fit right in. I know James & Kirk were huge Mule fans but I wasn't aware that Jason was too.

Here are the dates Jason will be playing:
4/17/02 Beacon Theater New York NY
4/18/02 Michigan Theater Ann Arbor MI
    4/19/02 Riviera Theater Chicago IL
    4/20/02 State Theater Minneapolis MN

I'll be at the Ann Arbor & Chicago shows......should be interesting.

Dave Schools is playing with them right now & I believe he's doing the April run too. In March Warren is doing the Beacon run with the Allmans then he'll be playing with Phil Lesh & Friends for the rest of March. Then its back to the Mule in April for a few east coast/midwest gigs. After that they're heading out west for the month of May. By then the Allmans should be kicking up their summer tour. If you haven't seen the Allmans with Warren & Derek Trucks you got to check 'em out this summer.....KILLER!!!!

Mule will never be what they once were with Woody...... but they'll still kick your ass.
