they're playing the Taste of Cleveland this weekend, which is pretty much a glorified rib burn-off...

BTW, Hagar played this same party two years ago...

They'll be playing the San Diego Street Scene (SD's version of Mardi Gras) next weekend, Sept 6-8.

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

Their last album didn't have a hit. I assume the hard core fans and rock radio played the shit......but it didn't cross over into other charts like "Lightning Crashes" or "Selling the Drama"
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Their last few records have bombed and in lieu of touring the States like they used to, they're subjected to playing "festival" shows for radio-stations, sponsorships, etc. It's too bad-they were a pretty cool band. I think their last studio record was their last for their label, which means there'll be a greatest hits or a live album coming out sooner or later.

'Live' was one band I really didn't like (except for the song 'Shittown'). Actually, it was the singer's voice more than anything. I never thought that they would have lasted even this long.

Here's a funny thing. I really don't like Live all that much personally, & yet, my band has been compared to them on several occasions... but that was for some of the older stuff we do, the newer stuff, VERY different.

Live's 3rd record, "Secret Samadhi", had the singles 'Lakini's Juice', 'Turn My Head', and 'Freaks'. Their album after that, "The Distance to Here" had 'The Dolphin's Cry', 'Run to the Water', and 'They Stood Up for Love'. Live's latest release is 'V', and the singles off of that were great, 'Simple Creed', and 'Overcome', which VH1 played the shit out of after 9/11/01.

Live sucks.

The Real Deal
The Real Deal does old VH better than any other band in the SF Bay Area. Hearing is believing...
