Is this new? Has anyone else seen this?

You could club baby seals to death and it still wouldn't be quite as sad as watching this. Somewhere in Paris, Jim is rolling in his grave.

Ian Astbury steps up to the microphone and puts his boot on the stand. Hmmm, hey Ian, I read No One Here Gets Out Alive too, that doesn't make me Jim Morrison.

Damn, commercial break and they preview what's coming up. Some dude who looks 20 is playing an acoustic guitar singing the "father, yes son" part of The End.

    Sorry Jim.

Saw it whenever it was new and thought it was pretty damn cool. Weiland did a damn good job on "Break on Through". Stapp did a descent job, that mofo loves morrison so it was cool watchig him sing with em. That dude your talking about glenn is Travis Meeks from Days Of The New, that guy kicks ass. They asked Eddie Vedder to do the whole show but he declined because they have already done that before.

Rafter, I have to agree with you - Travis Meeks is a talented mo'fo... He did a great job on "The End"... I was most impressed that he didn't try to act like Jim, just sing like him. And sing like him he did!

Glenn, I have to agree with you about Ian Astbury - what a shmoe! I've never liked that guy, and his act was just that - an act. He didn't deserve to be on the same stage as the remaining Doors... The others did an acceptable job.

My opinion about other singers singing Doors songs with the band is if they can do it justice, go for it! Krieger, Manzarek and Densmore didn't die 30 years ago - Jim Morrison did, and when he died, he cheated the rest of the band out of living their dream, IMO. It's their legacy too! They have a right to play those songs as they wish; at least they didn't hire Roger Daltrey or someone to come in and butcher the catalog...

Besides, most of the singers they have playing with them now idolize Jim Morrison and The Doors, and wouldn't try to deny it or smear Jim's contribution, which is what may have happened if they had hired a contemporary of Jim's to replace him.

I am glad that the remaining members of The Doors are willing and able to play and share their music with us while they still can, celebrating it rather that encapsulating it never to be heard again. True, nobody is Jim but Jim, but at least we get some of the pie, instead of none...

Sorry to rant - Never mind!

    Jane, you ignorant slut!
