Everyone's got 'em. In the early 80's, I hated all the new wave stuff. Now, I download all I can find mainly because of the memories they bring back and then I say "It's actually pretty good"
Example: "867-5309", The Psychadelic Furs "Love My Way",The Pretenders "Back on the chain gang" Squeeze "Black coffee in bed" Scandal "Goodbye to you" and many more. Most of the stuff that was on MTV in those early years. Just a little slice of my life as a teen.

At first I didn't really like ZZ Top that much but when I listened to their Greatest Hits tape I found out I liked those songs and listen to them quite often now.

Led Zeppelin was already broken up before I ever became aware of them, and it took me a long time to get used to Robert Plant's voice. I didn't finally get into them until sometime in the early 90's, but now I've got all of their stuff and love them.

    Well, I never hated any of these bands, but here's some stuff from the eighties I still listen to;
THE POLICE-Ahead of their time, period.
RATT-Awesome band, but forget about anything after "Reach for the Sky"
HALL AND OATES- So sue me, I dig some of that shit.
    DURAN DURAN- See above.
U2- Lost it in the nineties, just got it back with new album. Incredible!
GUNS-N-ROSES-Stuck a foot up Rocks ass!
VAN HALEN- The ALL_TIME KINGS OF ROCK!!! Sadly, disbanded in 1985. Rumoured redemption soon.....

Allsoup - The police were and are my second favourite band of all time! Personally I think that Stuart Copeland form the POlice is the BEST drummer of all time - very jazz like!

I liked a lot of that stuff when it first came out, but then gradually got away from it.. The other day I find myself downloading all these 80's remixes from Napster.

    Go figure.

So many of the bands I like now did not start off that way - in most cases it was because I did not like the way the singer sounded:

    Aerosmith (don't know why)
    AC/DC (vocals)
    Beatles (don't know)
Genesis (vocals & music (Duke & Abacab era)
Guns 'N Roses (vocals, guitar in "Sweet Child Of Mine")
    KISS (name, makeup)
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (vocals)
    The Police (vocals)
    Yes (vocals, lyrics)
    ZZ Top (don't know)
