Former SKID ROW Frontman Records Music With Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Members, Awaits Final Word - Dec. 23, 2002

Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach has confirmed that he has been recording demos and auditioning for the new band formed by ex-GUNS N' ROSES members Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.

Bach, who is considered to have the inside track to fill the vacant singer slot in the group, told Florida's Sun-Sentinel last week that "All I can say right now is that they're pretty much trying out every singer who ever walked, and I'm one of them. I've laid down five songs with them in the studio, and they've given me another 14 songs with vocals that I'm trying to tackle.

"I could be a member of the band someday but as of right now, I'm not," Sebastian continued. "You're talkin' to somebody who does eight shows a week so I just cannot relate to GUNS N' ROSES.

"There's a reason why I'm the only heavy metal singer to take a Broadway show on the road in the United States — it's because none of the other ones can show up on time," he joked.

Not a bad choice. He likes to rock. They like to rock. I wonder who else has auditioned for them?

This crew is moving 100 times faster to secure a lead singer then Van Halen.

Now that is a perfect choice. Axl can't sing anymore and neither can Sebastian.

Whew! Close call.
Better them than VH.
I think we'd all be better off if we could
leave, um, Mr. Bach to rot in off-broadway
obscurity. But I'd much rather see him
crap up GnR (or wharever they're fucking called) than put the last nail in the
VH coffin.
As for for the gunners, how bout Mike Monroe
of Hanoi Rocks or even the aforementioned Meeks is not bad.

...peripherally related...

Don't know how many of you are familiar with Craigslist.org, but last Monday I was scanning the "Musicians" board on the SF site, and I came across a very interesting post titled something like "Metal Singer Wanted".

So I open this post and it says something to the effect of "Multiplatinum metal band seeks singer that can tour, has his sh*t together, yada yada..." At the bottom of the post is "...submit demo to: Slash, PO Box [whatever], Sherman Oaks, CA..." It was an actual address!

I figured this was a joke, but usually joke posts like this get followed by at least a few "Yeah, right..." posts; this one slipped completely under the radar with no response posts.

If anyone's interested in reading this post for themselves, go to the url Craigslist.org, then click on "Musicians", then enter "Slash" as the keyword. This ad will be the only one filtered out, but it's already 8 days old and will be purged by Dec 26.

Maybe someone should tell Ralph to look into this...

Any bets as to who might get a record out faster, Van Halen or the ex-Gunners?
I think I might be leaning towards Slash and Izzy at this point.

I can almost garuntee the (ex)Gunners will have their disc out first . I`ve been thinking lets say VH(Ed) get their act together and by March 03 they announce they have a vocalist and are recording material for a CD(I know , just try and imagine it)It will take them at least another year to release it , so maybe if were lucky we`ll have some new material in 2004 , but wait , maybe we`ll get a reunion tour next year

He has been. The band has been trying out many vocalists. He and Bach are in the final cut.
