Kick ass band! Jake E Lee, Greg Chaisson, Eric Singer (Kiss's 3d drummer) and Ray Gillen. That 1st album is just killer! "High Wire", "Dreams in the dark" and one of the best 80's metal songs "Winter's Call" Great blues rock. I heard that Ray Gillen passed away some time ago but never heard from what. Anyone know?

Ray Gillen died of Aids related pneumonia.

That was one of my fav CDs when it came out.
Jake E. Lee is so under appreciated.

I got to see Badlands twice. Once with Great White and Tesla, and once at a outdoor "lalapalooza" type festival. They played in a bandshell with a small audience. Way cool.

There is a third Badlands CD called Dusk, but it was only released in Japan. You can get it off of Napster though.

Badlands was one of my favorites too. They were a kick ass band with a nice bluesy feel.
It was too bad that Ray died. Amazing throat.

I got that "Dusk" cd. It's not too bad. Nothing compares with the first one though.

For Jake E. Lee nuts, he did a solo album a couple of years ago. Japan only import though. If my memory serves me.....all instrumentals.

Wow! Fellow Badlands fans! They were one of my favorite bands! I never got to see them live unfortunatly though. My favorite album of theirs is Voodoo Highway. Dusk is damn good too...and of course the 1st album is great. Ray was one of those kiss ass frontmen. Too bad not enough people knew of him, RIP. And Jake is one of my favorite players still. He is supposidly working on an album with Mandy Lion on vocals to be out in early 2001. I dig Jake's solo album as well.

Anybody have any rare unreleased Badlands or live Badlands they'd be willing to trade?

Yeah man, jakeelee.com is a great site. I wish Jake would be a little more out front with his news though and should support it offically. But the site is well run. I gotta have some new material from him soon!

Wow, Homeunit...that's cool! I would love to hear it.

JakeELee.com is working on an upcoming interview with bassist Greg Chaisson. I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to say. Thought you guys might want to know about this.

The fucking drummer kicked ass!! Sounded like a cross between Mitch Mitchell and Ian Paice. Great records! I miss Ray, alot. He was a great voice!

I met Jake & Ray back in, let's see '89. I used to work at this record store & Badlands was playing here in Detroit & it was our grand opening that same day. They came down to hang out, sign some autographs, buy a couple of c.d.’s. Nobody really knew they were coming it wasn’t advertised until like that day or something. I wasn’t really crazy about Badlands at that time but a friend of mine was so I was aware of them. I really dug Jake ‘cause of his work with Ozzy of course. Those guys were really cool, a real joy to hang & bullshit with, unlike Slayer but that’s a different story. Just thought I’d share that little story with ya.
