MTV News is reporting a new cd from APC. No word on when it's going to be out. I can't wait.

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/145...t_circle.jhtml

A Perfect Circle have 80 percent of the music already recorded for their follow-up to Mer De Noms and hope to get the album in stores by spring 2003, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen said last week.

"It's definitely a step up from the last record," Van Leeuwen said, adding that anyone who liked the band's 2000 debut should dig the new tunes. "A Perfect Circle kind of established its sound, and I think there's just more of that. It's very ethereal and builds up to the heavy thing rather than being heavy all the time."

As soon as singer Maynard James Keenan gets off the road with Tool, he plans to focus on writing the rest of the vocal melodies and lyrics for APC's second effort, Van Leeuwen said.

Guitarist Billy Howerdel, Van Leeuwen, bassist Paz Lenchantin and drummer Josh Freese have been working on the material for much of the last year at Howerdel's home studio (see "Howerdel Hopes To Revive A Perfect Circle Next Year").

Van Leeuwen is on the road as a touring guitarist for Queens of the Stone Age (see "Queens Of The Stone Age Go Deaf In NYC").

I thought APC released the best album of 2000. Put me down as another who can't wait for the release!

I have to say that I liked APC a lot more than the latest Tool...

The last Tool album was a real yawner...

That's cool, I am excited about the new APC CD, becuase that will tide me over for the five years in between TOOL releases. I really liked the 2000 CD.....I may even agree that it is the best of the year.

But how the hell could you say APC's last album was better than TOOL's latest? Or that TOOL's latest was a yawner. I love that CD. I loved it when I bought it and I love it more now. One of my all time favorite albums. I think the title song is the most finely arranged song...ever.

Second A Perfect Circle Album Nears Completion
    From Undercover

The second A Perfect Circle album is almost done. It is missing just one vital ingredient … the vocals.

The line-up will be the same as the first record with Troy Van Leeuwen, Josh Freeze, Billy Howerdal and Maynard James Keenan taking part on the record. All that needs doing is for Maynard to put down his bit. "Last I heard there wasn't any vocals on it" Troy tells Undercover News "That is another thing that continually evolves as time progresses. It is getting close to be finishing. The vocals are at least being considered. Maynard was out with Tool forever and you can't just jump off the road and into the studio after that long period of time I think anyway".

For Troy, A Perfect Circle is just one of his current activities. He is currently touring on the Big Day Out with Queens of the Stone Age. "I just try and do as much as I can" he says. "Even when I'm on the road I do work. I am working with Mark Lanegan on some of his solo stuff. I am helping Nick Oliveri out with some of his solo stuff called My New Generator. I have another band at home as well that I am trying to finish up called Enemy and one day it will see the light of all of these things coming out. But at the moment it is just a lot of work and I just like to stay busy. I just like to do what I can when I can. I need to get this cloning thing going on so I can go out and play live in all of them".

As for how the new A Perfect Circle record will sound, Troy can't say. He's been out of the loop since jumping over to QOTSA. "It keeps changing" he says. "Since I have being doing Queens of the Stone Age a lot of other work has been done on it"
    .
Will the QOTSA activity clash with A Perfect Circle? "It hasn't happened yet but I am crossing my fingers that I can do both" he says.

The second A Perfect Circle album will happen in 2003.

Her vocals will be missed too. She added a solid sound to APC.....not to mention how hot she was....

Paz is with the King of Dorks. She's in Billy Corgan's band Zwan.

I really think she'd be better off with APC musically speaking. Although I like Zwan she doesn't do anything there that couldn't be done by someone else.
