I saw Judas Priest on Friday night in NYC at Roseland Ballroom!!! It was a kick ass show, but my only complaint is that the drummer, Scott Travis, didn't play like he meant it and was going through the motions, it partially took away from the show. He should have rocked out more...

But Ripper's voice is incredible, and Glenn, K.K., and Ian were rocking hard up there giving us the best in Judas Priest!!!Of course there were SO MANY more songs I would love to hear....Judas Priest have a very exstensive catalog, so it makes it difficult....

Everything I can remember, in no particular order.....

    Diamonds And Rust
    Touch Of Evil
    Metal Gods
    Turbo
    Victim Of Changes
    Green Manilishi
    The Hellion
    Electric Eye
    Sceaming For Vengence
    Painkiller
    Hell Is Home
    One on One
    Living After Midnight
    Hell Bent For Leather
    Breaking The Law
    Beyond The Realms Of Death
    Desert Plains
    United
    Heading Out To The Highway
    Bullet Train
    Burn In Hell
    Machine Man

there might have been a couple of more(don't remember), but they didn't do "you've Got Another Thing Coming" which was fine by me...

I hope they eventually reunite with Rob Halford though!!!

look for JP to come around in the summer!!!maybe a package tour...

sorry bud, i beg to differ, for I saw Halford in concert, and I saw Priest in concert twice now, and frankly JP sounded much much better with more POWER than Halford...and I will always support Halford, but....JP is Halford, Glenn, KK, & Ian, (and Dave Holland and Scott Travis(the drummers with JP for the longest amount of time)

I was at that gig too - guess I wasn't so impressed. They're a great Judas Priest tribute band - and Ripper has a good voice for the task. The material from the last two albums *sucked* - I don't think they played Bullet Train (they played Blood Stained) or Machine Man (never even heard of that song) or Screaming for Vengeance for that matter.
Anyway Halford's last album completely kills Jugulator and anytthing I've heard from Demolition. Rob is still producing decent music - Priest isn't.

It was a fun gig, but total nostalgia and the recent material killed the atmosphere.

I am not sure about the newer songs that they played, but I am pretty sure they did Screaming For Vengence, because I thought I remembered the dueling guitar solo...and the harmony lead too....I have heard a bunch of new stuff too off the new album Demolition, I must admit it's growing on me...

The new Halford is decent too...

I remember the guitar duel but I'm pretty sure it wasn't in SFV - maybe Painkiller or Turbo Lover, it was near the end anyway. I've seen a few setlists for the tour and haven't seen SFV on any of them. This is pretty much what they played I think (in order).

    Metal Gods
    Heading Out To The Highway
    A Touch Of Evil
    Blood Stained
    Victim Of Changes
    One On One
    Diamonds And Rust
The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)
    Beyond The Realms Of Death
    Burn In Hell
    Hell Is Home
    Breaking The Law
    Desert Plains
    Turbo Lover
    Painkiller
    ---------------
    Hellion/Electric Eye
    United
    Living After Midnight

I think Scott Travis looked bored, he's one of those monster powerful drummers, and alot of the Judas Priest stuff is "I think" is too simple for him, so hence the lacking in the enthusiasm department. The thing is, Scott doesn't realize this makes him and THE BAND NOT live up to their true potential....I believe that live you should always give 110%!!!!Although I thought he was much better on the Painkiller tour, I saw them three times on that tour, and he was better in 1998 too......

I do hope he isn't sick, but he doesn't look sick to me...

The funny thing is, that JP were on Eddie Trunk on 102.7 WNEW after the show and I called in and got through. I considered mentioning to them about my thoughts about Scott's drumming, but I didn't want to cause any problems "publicly" like that on the air. So I told the mthey were great, whcich they were, Ripper is amazing, and I was tlaking to Ripper about how I saw him in a club in Wallington, North Jersey back in the JP Tribute band, Bristish Steel....after theis The DJ, Eddie, interjected, because he didn't know that Ripper played in NJ with that band back then....

I asked if they were going to tour in the summer nad they said there is a possibilty of package tour, new and old bands, ala a "Priest Fest".....we'll see.....

Compare photo's of him in the liner notes on that Greatest Hits CD (the one with Halford in the concert shot in the Pantera t-shirt on the cover) and recent photo's. Maybe he's just getting old, heard it happens to all of us eventually. He has lost weight and aged quite a bit.

I know they had a tour set up w/ANTRAX as support but that got canceled after 9/11. Hope they get that back up and running. That would be a great double bill.
