The list would sure as hell look a whole lotta different over here.

Are those just U.S. numbers? Because I remember in 1995 that VH surpassed 60 million albums sold worldwide.

Dan's right. Warner Brothers presented Van Halen with an award shortly after the release of Balance denoting 60 million albums sold world wide. Taking the Best of, VH3 and additional sales of the previous 11 albums I'd put the number somewhere around 65 to maybe as high as 70 million.

Yes, these are U.S. numbers, because this is from the RIAA site.

I'm not sure how accurate this list is, at least when it comes to VH. The figure for VH's sales (50.5 million) has been unchanged since 1999. I know that their sales have to be increased by one million or more, just from back catalog sales (consider the fact that the 1984 album alone sold 2 million copies from 1994 to 1996). Van Halen was once in the all-time list's top 10; and since then updated sales figures from other artists have skyrocketed and pushed VH down to #20. Methinks WB and the RIAA have some updating to do...

That list is MEANINGLESS and extremely americano-centric. Iron maiden sold almost 50 million records worldwide and didn't even break 15 millions in the US.

Someone dig up the Worldwide Record Sales. I'd be curious to see that list. Would not surprise me if The Beatles are still number one on that list as well!!!

(I'm a huge Beatles fan--right behind VH anyway)
