Poison (look what the cat dragged in)
Ratt (invasion of your privacy)
Bon Jovi (slippery when wet)
White Lion (pride)
Motley Crue (theater of pain)

I feel like I should be playing "Take Me Back (Deja Vu)" here because I'm reliving my youth (or "yoot" as Cousin Vinny would say!)

My faves:
Stryper, White Lion, Hurricane, Warrant, Bon Jovi

Honorable mention:
Loudness, Y&T, Ratt, Whitesnake, Cinderella, Firehouse, Cinderella, Britny Fox, Poison, Slaughter, Great White, Winger , the Crue, Dokken, XYZ (remember this Dokken clone?), Def Leppard

Here I come to clear things up

I don't think any of those bands that still create music should be labeled "hair band." Bands such as Dokken, Motley Crue, and even Poison still release new material and they've moved on. Lets keep the term "hair band" for the wusses and posers who couldn't make it out of the '80's...Not that it was easy for them

It's no secret that I believe we were better off without hair bands when they were forced off the air in the 90's. However a few of them deserve a mention....

Bon Jovi - The only "hair band" I actually ever paid to see in concert. Yeah, they may have wrote twice as many cheese ballads as Van Hagar, but in between were some decent pop rock songs. Richie Sambora and Tico Torres were probably too good musically to be in a "hair band".

White Lion - If for no other reason than the fact that they had the best Eddie Van Halen wannabe this side of Steve Vai.

Stryper - call them "transvestite bees for Christ" if you will, but their positive message was well timed and well recieved by 80's headbanging teenagers who wouldn't have given Amy Grant or Billy Graham the time of day. Rumour is these guys are on their way back soon. You have been warned

dude, you're calling def leppard a hair band? give your head a shake, man. not in my books will they ever be a hair band. i love those guys, they are still one of my all time favorite bands (behind vh) and they are still making music (i thought euphoria ruled by the way) and they had no trouble at all making it past the 80's. i bet led zeppelin was a hair band too hey?

anyway, i don't think bon jovi is either (they're still making tunes) but i definitely don't like them as much.

poison, the crue, twisted sister, quiet riot, they were all cool, even though they all sound the same...
any of you guys see the simpsons episode...
"lets give a hand to quiet riot!!!!"
"hey, i thought we were poison."
" i thought we were quiet riot."
(points to his bass drum) "it says here we're ratt." i laughed my ass off.
oh yeah, helix was cool too.

cabo, i'm not trying to be an asshole, but when you mentioned def leppard i was really surprised.
