This is not a critique or endorsement for any bands. I just thought I'd try and compile a list of some of the bigger new rock bands that have come out since 1999 (or slightly before) for those that might not be able to follow modern rock close enough.

Please note this is by no means an expansive, all inclusive list. There are a lot of other rock bands (Drowning Pool, POD, Saliva, Adema, etc) that really haven't scored a hit yet and are excluded as such.

    Alien Ant Farm
Key Songs Since '99: Movies, Smooth Criminal.
    Current Status: Supporting ANThology.

    Buckcherry
Key Songs Since '99: Check Your Head, For the Movies, Lit Up, Ridin'.
    Current Status: Supporting Time Bomb.

    Cold
Key Songs Since '99: No One.
Current Status: Supporting 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage.

    Creed
Key Songs Since '99: Are You Ready?, Higher, My Sacrifice, What If, With Arms Wide Open.
    Current Status: Just released Weathered.

    Days of the New
    Key Songs Since '99: Enemy.
Current Status: Just released Days of the New 3.

    Disturbed
Key Songs Since '99: Down With the Sickness, Stupify, Voices.
    Current Status: Supporting The Sickness.

    Fuel
Key Songs Since '99: Bad Day, Hemorrhage, Innocent
Current Status: Supporting Something Like Human.

    Godsmack
Key Songs Since '99: Awake, Bad Magic, Greed, Keep Away, Voodoo, Whatever.
    Current Status: Supporting Awake.

    Kid Rock
Key Songs Since '99: American Badass, Only God Knows Why.
    Current Status: Just released Cocky.

    Linkin Park
Key Songs Since '99: Crawling, In the End, One Step Closer.
    Current Status: In between albums.

    Limp Bizkit
Key Songs Since '99: Break Stuff, My Way, Nookie, Re-arranged, Rollin'.
    Current Status: Supporting Chocolate Starfish...

    Lit
Key Songs Since '99: Miserable, My Own Worst Enemy, Ziplock.
    Current Status: Just released Atomic.

    Puddle of Mudd
Key Songs Since '99: Blurry, Control.
    Current Status: Supporting Come Clean.

    Sevendust
Key Songs Since '99: Denial, Praise.
    Current Status: Just released Animosity.

    Staind
Key Songs Since '99: Fade, Home, Mudshovel, Outside, It's Been a While.
Current Status: Supporting Break the Cycle.

    Tantric
Key Songs Since '99: Astounded, Breakdown.
    Current Status: Supporting Tantric.

    3 Doors Down
Key Songs Since '99: Be Like That, Duck and Run, Kryptonite, Loser.
    Current Status: Between albums.

Good job on the list, Stuff.

I'm not as familiar with the "rock" format as I used to be and I doubt anyone would be interested in what's hot in the "AC" format! Elton or Faith anyone?

It'd be interesting to hear from those less than 25 and get their take on what they think of bands like Aerosmith and Ozzy still putting out records. Do the younger listeners of today really understand or appreciate the madness that once was Ozzy or is it a "retro" thing? I saw him playing live on MTV for some moto-cross thing the other night. Oh Ozzy...what happpened to you?

Nice list, although some of those bands I could do without.

    Ain't that the truth!

I honestly forgot about A Perfect Circle, thanks for putting that up.

I try to stay as current on the rock scene as possible, but it's hard these days. We're in a kind of post-alternative "sinister" pissed off rock period right now. I don't really go for that rap-rock sh... stuff (Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit), but I can handle Linkin Park.

Creed, Staind, and Tantric are probably my favorites out of the current batch. Break the Cycle is light years better than Dysfunction. Tantric, FYI, consists of the three people that got booted out of Days of the New back in '98 as well as a new guy singing.
