Anybody hear the new single "Honestly" yet?

My sister was always a big Pumpkins fan, and she's gotten me into them...

    I think it's quality.

Sounds too mainstream/poppy for my tastes. I expect better, more hard-rocking stuff from Billy Corgan, especially with Jimmy on drums. Mind you, I haven't been into the Pumpkin's for quite awhile. I saw them in concert two years ago, and they were underwhelmingly mediocre. It was a bit of a let-down. You could tell the impending break-up was on their minds; they didn't look too happy onstage.

I thought Machina was an alright album though.

Err....I don't think the Smashing Pumpkins were about 'happy' my friend. Didn't Corgan sack that Jimmy guy for being a smack user?

Yeah, they sacked Jimmy after the heroin overdose incident, but he was welcomed back to the band when they started to work on Machina.

It's definitely incredibly pop. But it's a first single from a new band. It's pop for a reason.

If you've heard any Zwan bootlegs, you'd see their stuff can be much darker, harder, and freeform. I think we'll hear more like this to come. Album out sometime in early '03...

I'm looking forward to this myself. Hopefully, they'll rock a little bit harder on the CD.
Still, it's not the Pumpkins anymore. I figured Corgan would've at least pulled a "Sting" and come out with something totally different.

I'm looking forward to hearing Zwan. I was a huge Pumpkins fan and I'm waiting for all of the misc. Pumpkins project to come out (Live, More outtakes, demos etc.) Does anyone know if Paz from A Perfect Circle is a perminent member of the band and if so what is up with the APC camp?

I've heard that she's with both bands, but APC is supposed to put out their next record by next Summer. I believe the music is all recorded save for Maynard's vocals.

The pumpkins were a good band. One of the best bands of the 90s, IMO. But I think it was a good idea for them (or Billy) to end it when they did.

I just picked up Earphoria today and, man, I really miss the Pumpkins. I hope that SP still puts out projects (the final Metro performance, additional Machina/Adore songs etc.). I don't think it'll happen due to Corgan's attention being on Zwan but it would be nice.
