I know this will either be closed or moved to another area on the board but I just wanted to point out to the people that may not know that a Van Halen single can be released anyday during the normal work week. Aerosmith's new single Jade was released yesterday and was played on Q104.3 in NYC. Come on Van Halen I hope you guys have something up your sleeve. I would hate for Aerosmith to steel the limelight from the Mighty Van Halen (Michael Anthony, David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen & Edward Van Halen). That's if all the rumors we have heard are true. I hope you guys make a move soon. I sure hope so. Especially for fans like me that have been supporting the boys since day one.

    ------------------
Al and I are the real Van Halen. There could always be Van Halen as long as it's me and Al. But if there was no Dave, this place would be pretty empty tonight. - EVH during a 1984 pre-concert interview before that night's sold out show

And there's only one David Lee. I'm the fun in Van Halen, always will be. - David Lee Roth

When classic Van Halen is together it's like one person. When I say 'I' in this respect, I mean my whole cadre that I am part of. I'm the tear boss, and I'm a fuckin' lifer. - David Lee Roth

"In America, we believe big time in publicizing the shit out of 'we ain't talkin'.' First we make goddamn sure that everybody knows we ain't saying anything..." - David Lee Roth

What'd you guys think of the single? I'd thought Tyler wanted to go in a little more rockin' direction, but the single sounded like bubblegum when I heard it last night.

Aerosmith stopped rocking when the 70's ended. I hate this overpolished shit they churn out now. I still have nightmares about that "Armageddon" song.

I'd relax about the Aerosmith single until you hear more of the album.

It's possible that the entire album could be hard rocking save one softer song, and that's what the label decided to release because of "widespread popular appeal."

    Vic Vega:

Admittedly I don't care for a lot of the polished stuff Aerosmith has done since "Done With Mirrors" however they still have some rockers up their sleeve.

The album Pump for example. how about the one-two shot of the first 2 songs on Pump: "Young Lust", going right into "F.I.N.E." That fucking rocks!

OR how about "Girl Keeps Coming Apart", from Vacation...OR the awesome Perry song: "Walk On Down" off of Get A Grip OR even "Nine Lives" off the album of the same name...speaking of the Armageddon soundtrack, how about the song on that soundtrack called: "What Kind Of Love Are You On" THAT one JAMMED!

Aerosmith can still rock when they want to.

I will admit my 2 favorite albums by those guys came outta the 70's though: Toys In The Attic AND Rocks....BUT having said that, I still think the Boys From Boston can ROCK!

Yeah, you make some really good points, BC. I agree with what you said, it's just that Armageddon song REALLY turned me off from them. I'll give them new album a listen, who knows? It might rock.
