Anybody else hear about this? Apparently, there was some press conference held by Vince Neil. Vince allegedly said Tommy was back in the fold & a new album would be out around Christmas 2002. According to Nikki Sixx, this is bullshit.

Maybe they will go the Ratt route and actually have two groups with the name of Motley Crue touring the country.

    From Metal Sludge;

quote:
On the Chronological Crue site
In Argentina for solo concerts over the next two nights, Vince Neil holds a press conference at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buenos Aires, where he is staying. He is then interviewed on Much Music Argentina and asked what happened with Motley Crue. As an exclusive for the Argentinean fans, Vince says he will begin writing new songs with Nikki and Mick next March for a new studio album to be recorded with Tommy Lee. After a Christmas 2002 album release, the original re-united band is planning to head out on a world tour early in 2003.

    In response, Nikki said

wow, motley loves rumors......but no truth to it.i know i told the band i really feel the original line up is the best there has ever been.((and they agreed))
i told vince that in a few years i would love to see the original band make a killer hard rock record ..but nobody has agreed or even had talks about it
yet.....were still all on hiatus(( and tommys doing another m.o.m. record))...im busy writing songs with no destination in mind.....you know how these fags in the press blow everything outta purportion((oh ya,thats you too))

    Love and clean tracks..sixx

If Crue really want to squash rumours, they should have Vince sit on them.

Does anyone else find this statement funny?

quote:
Vince says he will begin writing new songs with Nikki and Mick next March

How active has Vince ever really been in the songwriting for Motley Crue?

No shit. Nikki writes lyrics by himself and then Mick and Nikki are usually the credited with writing the music.

Remind me again. Why Vince is back in the band? Marketability? Maybe back in the 80s. But how about 2001? How is an overweight, 40 year old, hair plugged, self-parody, drunk marketable?

Personally, I think Nikki and John Corabi should just join Methods of Mayhem or start another band.

What did it sell, around 140 000 copies? That's about what I've heard.

It's such an uneven album, the lyrics are TERRIBLE, easily the worst lyrics on any Motley album. Vince sounds pretty bad on most of it, especially the ballads. I like Hollywood Ending, but Vince sounds horrible on it, like they're piecing the song together line by line. If Vince wants to be in the band, he's got to get his shit together with more effort.

Enough of this, 'it's rock and roll, it's not meant to be perfect' horseshit. It's also not meant to sound like the guy has a monster hangover and he just sang the album once and passed out. That might have looked (and sounded) glamorous in 1986, but now it's just pathetic.

    Here's the real eye opener...

Vince Neil was NEVER the lead singer of Motley Crue. Truth is...it's always been:

Crue's shining moment was and always will be the Dr. Feelgood album. That was a classic. Everything they've done since then has sucked except for Decade of Decadence but that doesn't really count as an album since it was mostly a "greatest hits" type of thing. I seriously doubt anything they do now or in the future will hold much musical weight.

I agree with Axe (for once. ) Motley's last great album was Dr. Feelgood.

Generation Swine was the worst album I have ever heard!! I sold that album for three bucks.

I had a hilarious dream that I hung out with Tommy Lee last night LOL! It was pretty cool.

Remove overweight and that sums up every singer that split/was kicked out of bands that were huge in the '80s.
