I agree on Ronnie James Dio!
    Also,
    Bruce Dickinson
    Roger Daltrey
    James Christian
    Geoff Tate
    Bono

Even though Ozzy's my favourite artist, I wouldn't say he has one of the best voices in Rock, also, I would also expect the best to be the best when singing live..

The Best voice in Rock is probably Ken Tamplin...amazing voice!! unfortunately, I heard that he is now only performing in religious circles..I also think he wrote for Kiss before.. anybody else heard him sing?

Can't say I agree with all the choices here, but then, what makes a great rock voice? Mick Jagger, Tom Petty, Steven Tyler and you could even maybe say David Lee Roth aren't necessarily great singers, but with the music behind them they sound awesome. A guy like Darius Rucker (Hootie & The Blowfish) has what seems to be what might be considered a good voice, but I really have no interest in listening to him. So who has a great voice that I like? I always liked Ronnie Van Zandt's (Lynyrd Skynyrd) voice, Paul McCartney, Glenn Frey and a lot of the females: Nancy Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Patti Smythe, et. al. Who would be at the bottom? Joe Cocker, Jim Morrison (hold the tomatoes, please) and Janis Joplin. Geddy Lee's down there, too, though I can tolerate him more because of the music.

    in alphabetical order.....

    Bono
    Blaze Bayley
    Phil Collins
    David Coverdale
    Roger Daltrey
    Bruce Dickinson
    Ronnie James Dio
    Ian Gillan
    Lou Gramm
    Sammy Hagar
    Rob Halford
    Glenn Hughes
    Mick Jagger
    Lenny Kravitz

    Freddie Mercury
    Ozzy Osbourne
    Robert Plant
    Paul Rodgers
    David Lee Roth
    Bruce Springsteen
    Sting
    Steven Tyler
    Doogie White

Some of them might not technically have great voices (for instance Bayley, Ozzy, DLR, Springsteen) but they are distinctive... and that is another nice component about singers.
