As reported in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine :

"Bassists including Primus' Les Claypool, Phil Lesh, Phish's Mike Gordon, Bootsy Collins, and The Family Stone's Larry Graham will appear on a fall tribute album to late Gov't Mule four-stringer Allen Woody..."

Just thought you guys and gals would like to know, since there are a lot of Gov't Mule fans here at the links.

Yeah I posted that not too long ago, that should be pretty interesting.

I've been hearing rumors about Les joining the Mule but I doubt it. IF they continue on, I could see Dave Schools filling in that spot but Widespread Panic is kinda happenin' right now, so I don't know if Schools would leave WP for Mule.

I just wish Woody was still around
In my book, he was one of the greatest bass players EVER.....But it's time to move on

This is the info I got from http://www.mule.net/

Warren Haynes and Matt Abts are in the studio recording a tribute album which will include most of Allen Woody's favorite bass players. Players who have signed on so far:
    Les Claypool (Primus)

Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead, Phil & Friends)

Alphonso Johnson (Chuck Mangione Quartet, Weather Report, Santana, Bobby & the Midnights, Jazz is Dead, The Other Ones)

Francis "Rocco" Prestia (Tower of Power)

    Jack Casidy (Hot Tuna)

    Chris Squire (Yes)

    Mike Gordon (Phish)

Bootsy Collins (James Brown, George Clinton & P-Funk)

    David Schools (Widespread Panic)

This will be an ongoing project thru out the year.
