I know a fair amount of you like to wail on Gary; but if you want to hear an album that is remanicent of Van Halen; pick up Extreme's greats hits. It rocks - period -. Sure you have to choke down More than words - but every great rock band needs a cheesy ballad to make them on the charts.

I picked it up used for like $5.00; well worth every cent.

You know - if Van Halen let Gary sing like Gary (because he can sing), and Gary wrote lyrics like those on this compilation, and the production wasn't such a fucking joke on III - then.....

Based on how much I like this - I will be buying a couple of their other CD's.

As we won't be hearing from Van Halen any time soon - I suggest picking this up.
Winners come and go; legends are forever.

Extreme's first CD is very VH influenced. I used to see 'em before they were signed and they covered Halen a lot. And get 'Pornographitti' because it kicks ass!
Yes I am an Extreme fan.

Extreme was an awesome band. I don't have their greatest hits album because all their studio albums are good start to finish.

Gonna send this to the Music Only Forum.

I bought this last year, and it hooked me on Extreme.

It's a great collection of songs; though to get the Extreme Experience, one should listen to the albums they came from. The effect is significantly improved especially with III Sides, as each song tells a part of a story.

I know I should start trying to listen to Extreme but I just haven't yet. I think I'll download the songs from the greatest hits album and evaluate them.

Extreme never got the pub or credit they deserved. Speaking as a former big White Lion fan I don't think they were underrated at all. They were overhyped and very cheesy. Vito Brata is one of the more least imaginative guitarists I've heard. All that talent he had... Now Nuno was always underrated and he was/is an absolutely brilliant player with a real open mind. He loves a challenge where I think Brata backed away from them.

I love Vito Bratta.......another VERY underrated musician. I don't think white lion was cheesy at all. When the children cry has got to be one of my favorite songs. Awesome guitars in that song............speaking of awesome guitars, I just heard Extreme's "do you want to play" tonight for the first time tonight (heard it on the bill and ted movie, then downloaded it). I'm only 20 years old...so I dont really remember if that was a popular song or not. ANyone remember how popular that song was???

Huge club song in Boston but did shit on the charts like the whole CD. That song kicks ass and they always nailed it live. I respect Brata by the way and want to still dig his stuff but I just can't. Children Cry I agree, but in general I think he LACKED feeling. He just could've been so much better.

White Lion ruined the 80s metal scene??? Their first album came out in 1986, before it was really getting huge anyway. The way you talk, it sounds like you've only heard one white lion song...........let me guess, "wait".
