I am looking for new hard rock music to listen to, but I HATE the negative, dark-sounding, screaming crud that is so popular now. Isn't there anybody upbeat and fun making new music (like we know VH is secretly doing)?

I would buy Journey's new album Arrival.

It's a great, great album, full of positive songs.

I also don't enjoy negative music.

That would be good, and also, you can always fall back on the chilli peppers. Joe satriani's new one is fantastic. Upbeat.

It's not really a "NEW" album anymore (nor a new group) but I have been playing the Hell out of U2-"All That You Can't Leave Behind" of late.

It's a really hopeful sounding, album with some great lyrics and music on there!

    Check it out!

My favorite song is "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of"
"Sorry about the mess..."<br /><br />~Han Solo Episode IV

    Sorry, I'm no help either.

I'm somewhat exploring my dark side at the moment.

Don't think stuff like Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Theater, Kid Rock or Halford is all upbeat, light or 100% positive.

Ricky Martin's newest album is a really good one. It really shows Ricky's outstanding singing and songwriting ability. Don't forget also to check out Ricky's 1999 self-titled album which features the hit "Livin' La Vida Loca." Ricky is absolutly amazing and is a talent that shouldn't go unrecognized even by us hardcore rock fans.

A matter of fact, I wouldn't doubt it if Eddie Van Halen comes knockin' on Ricky's door pretty soon to give him one of the most prestigious jobs in rock.

Well, I'm sure you have the latest by Sammy. What about "Euphoria" by Def Leppard? Michael Sweet (former Stryper singer) has a new solo cd out that rocks!! It's called "Truth". You could check out the "Ultimate Y&T Collection"...a best of from their entire catalog. The new Black Crowes "Lions" is out there, as is Lifehouse and Fuel. I've heard these are decent.

Quiet Riot's "Guilty Pleasures" and Poison's "Power to the People" (a live cd) are both available too.

I don't know if you'll like these or not...they are ones that I've gotten though recently.

I have to put in a second nomination for the "Album of the Year" - All That You Can't Leave Behind by U2. Like all their albums, it took a while (and a trip to the midwest) to grow on me - but it's there. Been into "Kite" the past few days, for Bono's dad.
