King's X is currently on tour. Is anyone here planning on seeing them? Here are the dates.

I have been a fan of them for quite awhile. But it wasn't until I saw them live that I REALLY appreciated them. They are hands down one of the top three live acts I have ever seen. (And I've seen everyone (TWICE!). I rarely leave a live show feeling like something could have been better be it the vocals, setlist or the sound. I've seen them twice now and will be seeing them twice on this tour (At the Galaxy on 6/29 and The Key Club on 7/01. Brett, you should really venture out to one of these gigs.)and was totally satisfied both times. It's hard to believe that much sound comes out of three guys.

Has anyone else out there seen them???

Yep, I've seen them and will be going again on 7-18 at Juanita's in Little Rock, which is a pretty small venue.

I've seen King's X live on five separate occaisions, three times opening for Rush, and twice as club headliners. Let me tell ya... I don't care who you are, these guys will make ya nervous as an opener! If you're not ready to kick ass each and every night, they WILL blow you away! Dream Theater and Joe Satriani will absolutely have their hands full following these guys! Can't wait to see it for myself on August 24, in Hotlanta!

BTW... if you want to catch a sample of what they're like live, go here , scroll down to "King's X" and check it out for yourself! (it's an entire King's X concert webcast... House of Blues concert archives kick MUCH ass!)

Definitely one of the most underrated bands on the planet!

I caught them on the Dogman tour and on the Mr. Bulbous tour. Two of the better shows I've ever seen. Those guys kick the crap out of bands half their age, in terms of musicianship and energy.
"There's a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, not wasabi, but wabi-sabi. It means an appreciation for the imperfect, the less than precision. The cowboy boots that you never polish because it's bad luck. That is completely wabi-sabi. Van Halen is that." - DLR 2002<br /><br />"Look! I can see their parachutes! One of the best bands to see live.

Seen them about five or six times, yeah!

They are fun! Vocal harmonies supreme.

THE BEST BAND TO SEE LIVE, actually,
besides Rush, Van Halen, or what-have-ye.

Dig the new songs, False Alarm, Believe
In Yourself, Marshmellow Field, and Fade Away
off the latest two, Manic Moonlight and Bulbous.

The thing about King's X is they jam, with heart and soul,
and it sounds and feels good to hear ... do check out their first six:

Out of The Silent Planet, Gretchen Goes To Nebraska, Faith Hope Love, King's X, Dogman, and Ear Candy.

Number one awesome voice, number one awesome guitar, the
coolest drummer you have to see live,
and songs that are for real and stay with you.

It is a whole new journey with their jams, like the one
many have gone on with other classic bands, and all kinds of harmonies.

Saw them open for Rush, 3 times? Ah, man!

Additionally:

Of course, we can't forget Tape Head:

As if! Dig Groove Machine, Fade, Ocean,
Little Bit of Soul ... Cupid is great, too.

On the first six cds are:

Not Just For The Dead, Mississippi Moon,
It's Love, Shot of Love, Silent Wind, Lookin' For Love...

And dig The Other Side on the new one,
excellent bass groove and smooth guitar,
from Manic Moonlight. Other fine cds are
Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous and Best Of

I wish I could get everyone to go see them live. I drag someone with me everytime I go and it's always the same. After they pick their jaw up off the floor they always say, "How did I miss these guys?". One of the only bands that I've seen live that use extensive vocal harmonies and pull it off without hiring extra backing singers or using a tape. And it's only 3 guys!

I urge anyone to go see them. It's well worth the $23.00. And if you hang out after the show, they actually come out and meet their fans.

Yes, they are the best. We've toured a little with them, and Ty was nice enough to wear my band's T-shirt in Guitar Player magazine a few years ago. They've been really supportive of us for years, and they're great guys too.
