maybe=
1st album - feeling their way , unsure , bit rough round edges but still showing potential,
2nd album- things start happening, band becoming cohesive -first signs of greatness
3rd album- due to constant touring , albums have more rushed feel , with certain fillers but still giving a laid back feel to the sound
4th album - everything comes together , right time , right place , right now..?

probably why modern rock is so crap.. the powers that be never allow a band enough time to mature to a 2nd let alone a 4th album - if the first records not a hit.. KAPUT..

I'll add:

Judas Priest - Stained Glass
AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Rush - 2112

Powerage. Depends how you count them, and if you include Oz releases. But I'd say

1.High Voltage
2.Dirty Deeds
3.Let There be Rock
4.Powerage
5.Highway to Hell

I'd also put LTBR and Powerage is the two best ACDC albums.

Well, not counting live albums, that would be KISS - Destroyer (though a case could be made for their actual fourth album Alive! as well!
Bryan Adams - Reckless
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Foreigner - 4

I forgot about Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

Also, I always thought it was Stained "Glass." I even have that album.

I think it was (re?)-released in the US after Back in Black and was a big seller. Did they release it here when it was originally recorded in 76/77?

King's X - self-titled
"There's a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, not wasabi, but wabi-sabi. It means an appreciation for the imperfect, the less than precision. The cowboy boots that you never polish because it's bad luck. That is completely wabi-sabi. Van Halen is that." - DLR 2002<br /><br />"Look! I can see their parachutes!
