Well, I went to the Voices of Metal show last night here in Phoenix. Voices of Metal???? I thought that should of been the Maiden/Ryche/Halford tour last summer.

Anyway, this tour package features Vince Neil and "Ratt - featuring Stephen Pearcy".

Vixen opened the show. Wow! I was never a big fan of Vixen back in the day, but these ladies can rock. I was really impressed with their musicianship. They came off a lot harder than they do on albums. They played 7 songs and generally got the crowd into the show.

Ratt featuring Stephen Pearcy was next. Basically, Stephen Pearcy solo playing Ratt songs. The band he had was pretty decent. Pearcy sounded o.k. but it was obvious he was drunk and didn't really care much about the show. His set list had 12 songs on it. He came on about 15 minutes late and after every song complained for a few minutes about not having enough time to sing all the songs he wanted to sing. If he would've just shut up and played, he would of made it through most of them. Anyway, I think he ended up getting through 8 of them. Played the classics, "You're in Love", "Round and Round", "Back for More" and "Body Talk". Even played a few from the first Ratt EP.

Vince Neil came out late too, but ended up getting through all of his set list even though they had some technical problems to open the show. The power for the sound went out twice during the opener "Kickstart My Heart". Once they got the technical problems solved, it was non-stop rocking from here on out. Vince was wasted big time, but he still knows how to be a rock star and put on a good show. He still only sings about every 3rd word, but when the band is kicking ass and everyone in the crowd is going nuts singing every word, it doesn't really matter. Played all the hits like "Too Fast for Love", "Girls, Girls, Girls", "Red Hot", "Shout at the Devil", "Same Old Situation" and others. He also played 2 of his solo songs, "You're Invited but You're Friend Can't Come" and "Look in Her Eyes". His guitar player, Brent Woods was really good. Overall, the show was pretty good and we had a great time. The girlfriend is a big Motley fan, so when Vince held the microphone in front of her face to help sing two songs, she was pretty damn excited.

If you are a Motley and Ratt fan, you will probably enjoy this show, so check it out if it comes to your town.

I recently had the pleasure of opening for Stephen Pearcy on 7/8/06
    in San Juan Capistrano..
Here's my review of the night:

What a STELLAR time I had this past Friday!

My latest band-PROWLER ripped through San Juan Capistrano on June 7th,
in support of STEVEN PEARCY (formerly of RATT)...

WE TORE THE ROOF OFF THE JOINT!

It was a rock & roll show of the finest kind.

*First, gotta say thanks to the Coach House staff....
They are professional, easy to work with, and they take care of their acts,
from the first warmup band to the headliner... Much Obliged.

Second, I gotta say what a great job the two warmup acts did...
    especially Grumpy...
I am pretty sure you'll see Grumpy and Prowler playing again in the future.

**NOW, ABOUT STEVEN PEARCY: The man is BACK, people...

Make NO mistake, this dude is out to prove something, and he's is doing it.

I have been a fan of RATT music, as well as his other projects,
and those songs are etched in my memory.
Friday's performance exceeded all my expectations, by far!!

He has a white-hot band, who play the material with ENTHUSIASM & RESPECT,
something sorely lacking in the hard-rock scene these days...

    ...and as for Pearcy himself:
All I have to say is when he comes to YOUR town,
you better go get some tickets!
If anyone tells you he hasn't got it, I'M telling you they are DEAD WRONG....
    ...and I don't B.S. anyone...
well yes I do..but you know what I mean..

There will be video clips from our Coach House concert
    surfacing VERRRY soon...

I just need to buy the full version of a DVD ripper program
so I can make some mpgs and get 'em on youtube

I saw Vince Neil live about a year ago. He was good, I had a great time. I was disappointed that he didn't play You're Invited But Your Friend Can't Come though. You are lucky to see him play it live. It's a great song!
Right Now you're reading my post!

I can't stand rap....people who can't sing do rap....you can sing rebellion as well as talk it....Hitler would have been in a rap band...

So there are now 2 "RATT" bands? One with Pearcy and the other with the other original members?

There have been the two sides of RATT for about five years or so now. I saw the DeMartini/Blotzer version a few years back and it was like seeing a cover band. I went in large part to see John Corabi but his role was hardly anything.

OK, I just didn't know that Pearcy was touring under the RATT name.

    He isn't now...
Just touring under his own name...not allowed to tour as Ratt anymore....

I wish they would grow up and put the full lineup together...

That's what I thought but the dude said he was touring as "RATT . . . featuring Stephen Pearcy". Not that I'll lose alot of sleep over it I guess.
