I'm certain we've had this discussion before, but I've been listening to AIC so much lately, I'd like to see some responses here. My favorites are a lot of the popular songs, but they're just so good, I can't choose anything else. My top 5 are:

1. Don't Follow (sooo sad, and heartfelt)
2. Down In a Hole (emotional, depressing song)
3. Nutshell (eery ballad)
4. No Excuses (warm feeling, catchy riff
5. Would? (balls out rocker)

Too many to mention!
In no particular order:
Junkhead (demo)
Brother
Nutshell
Rotten Apple
Dam That River
Grind
We Die Young (demo)
Dirt
Man In The Box
Get Born Again
I chose the demo versions of a couple of songs that are on "Music Bank" that actually kick more ass than the recorded versions! (Damn, Layne really wails on Junkhead!)

I know I've left a bunch out!

My Top 5 AIC Songs would be:

1 - Nutshell
2 - Rain When I Die
3 - Brother
3 - Sunshine
4 - Rotten Apple
Always one more,
You're never satisfied.
Never one for all with you,
It's only one for me

In descending order (a la Letterman):

5. Sickman
4. Dam That River
3. Real Thing
2. We Die Young
1. Dirt (a song that reminds me of my ex-girlfriend, instead of drugs - go figure)

I've never touched hard drugs in my life, but the way Staley conveyed every possible thing that can be associated with doing hard drugs is simply incredible. I cried the day he died.

The Real Deal
The Real Deal does old VH better than any other band in the SF Bay Area. Hearing is believing...

It Ain't Like That
Sea Of Sorrow
Brother
Nutshell
Shame In You
What The Hell Have I
Anything off of Dirt, IMO one of, if not the best album of the 90's.

Shit, just about anything off of "Dirt" or "Facelift" would qualify.

If I had to pick five favorite AIC tunes right now, I'd probably go for, in no specific order:

Put You Down (my fave AIC riff, freakin' PHAT groove on that one!)
We Die Young
Man in the Box
Rooster
I Can't Remember

RIP Alice in Chains
