Can't give an exact count but here's a few to start with:

    Everything legal by the Beatles
Almost everything legal by the Stones
    Everything legal by U2
    Everything legal by Van HALEN
    Everything legal by Van Hagar
Everything legal by the original AC/DC
    Everything legal by the Police

(and boots by all of the above also )

    That's enough for starters.......
    Eat Us And Smile

    Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

I guess I should clarify that all of the ones that I listened are official releases--no boots or burned CDs.

Just CDs, right? Damned if I'm gonna count 'em all, but these are off the top of my head...

VH - everything, including multiple copies, remasters, imports, CD singles, tins, etc....so probably numbering around 50-60 (and I'm not counting boots, either )
    Beatles - everything
    Led Zep - everything
    SRV - everything
    DLR solo - everything
    Sammy Hagar solo - most
    Ozzy - everything
    Jimi Hendrix - everything
    AC/DC - most (probably missing 1 or 2)
    Dokken - everything
    Pantera - everything
    Extreme - everything
Yngwie Malmsteen - everything up until the mid-1990s
    And lots more....

Interesting question. Aside from Van Halen (I have all of DLR and the first 2 with Sam), Tori Amos, Zep, Nirvana and Motley Crue, I don't have any large collections by one artist that are (or near) complete. I'm more of a buffet style eater... I have at least the first 2 or 3 records by my longtime faves: the bands I mentioned above plus early stuff by Public Enemy, Hendrix, Prince, Beasties--bands that didn't suck until later in their careers. I have a lot of Stones, mostly their 70s and early 80s stuff. Late 60s Beatles. My classical collection is where I have a lot of multiples...Mozart, Beethoven and Bach, primarily.
I'm loyal to my heroes but I won't buy an album if it blows, no matter who made it.

Interesting question. I would have to say at the top are (7" vinyl singles excluded):

The Beatles (tricky because of U.S. vinyl and U.K. CD configurations) - 39 albums, 14 vinyl 7" eps & 3 CD singles
The Rolling Stones - 38 albums (some vinyl only, some CD only, a lot both but only counted once) & 6 12" or CD singles
    U2 - 12 CD albums, 3 CD eps, 40 12" or CD singles
KISS - 23 vinyl or CD albums
Aerosmith - 21 CD albums, 10 12" or CD singles
    Paul McCartney/Wings - 18 vinyl or CD albums, 5 12" singles
    ZZ Top - 16 CD albums, 3 12" singles

    and so much more!
