Here is a partial list of summer tours that "could" be coming to the Boston area (Tweeter Center) this summer.
The station I work at is one of the sponsors of this place. My "source" got a list of names penciled in as touring this summer.

    OzFest
    Sting
    Mary J. Blige
    Neil Young
    Poison and guests
    Metallica (late summer)
    Christina Aguilera
    Van Halen
    No Doubt
    The Who
    Styx
    Sammy Hagar
    Shakira
    Marylin Manson
    Santana
    Usher
    Aretha Franklin
    Back Street Boys
    Doobie Brothers
    The Eagles
Rolling Stones (late summer or early fall)

Like I said, take it for what its worth.

Still strange to see Van Halen's name there with all the silence from them.
Do promoters know something that we don't?

some of those names did appear on the list i heard about as well in the pasadena weekly report that ran a few weeks back.
however, i digress, as this all seems like more bullshit to me.

eddymon, i wanna meet your source. bring him/her over to we can have dinner ok?

Eddymon, I keep reading this inside info that you post, but I never understood what your credentials are?

Would you mind explaining how you come across this information and where and what industry you are in?

I don't think your a rumour-starter, but from what I have witnessed in the last few months, your track record seems to be a little shy of .500

A "little" ??? You just made Eddymon's day. LOL.

None of his rumors have ever been right, but he's usually the first to admit that. He's not an insider (obviously! ), but Eddymon doesn't lead people on, either.

The same can't be said for certain supposed "insiders" who shall remain nameless since they don't deserve any further ink.

I don't mind reading rumors on the band. If we didn't have that much we'd really be up shit creek. Take it with a grain of salt that way nobody gets pissed when it doesn't happen.

Wasn't VH on the list last year too...seems to be an ongoing wish for promoters.

Add G-n-R, Limp Bizquick, Dokken and Tesla to the list as well.

At least we don't have it as bad as the GnR die hard fans do. They haven't toured in something like 10 years.

It's pure speculation on the promoters' parts. Both Metallica and The Rolling Stones, for instance, are in the midst of "projects," nothing more. This guarantees no tour. Metallica are working on an album which may or may not be done by the summer (as if anyone cares anymore), while The Rolling Stones are working on a box set of unreleased studio material. These may not see the light of day until the end of the year, although they have hinted that there may be a 40th anniversary tour to coincide with the box set. But it's certainly not in stone yet.

Not entirely true. Axle n' Friends have played a couple times in Vegas and in Rio, but they keep promising an album that they (or rather Axle) hasn't delivered.

Hell, they even have a name for the album, "Chinese Democracy". But I expect to see that about the same time I see a new VH album.
