Last night I saw an advertisement for cable tv. They were showing the programs that were popular on cable. They showed a clip of The Sopranos and on the bottom the screen it said The Sopranos. They showed a clip of the Van Halen, Jump video and on the bottom of the screen it said Behind The Music.

There was a Behind the Music episode that was about the year 1984 so that could have been what they were referring to.

That's what it had to be.

    You know,

Van Halen would be an epic "Behind the Music" episode. They just need to move onto the next step, and it would be hilarious.

    What a soap opera!

    Out!

    I saw that ad.

The only thing that I thought was interesting was that it was an ad for Time/Warner Cable.

If one had an imagination, one might suggest that it was a chance for Warner to put VH's image out there as a tiny part of this so-called "media prep".

Forces, I agree with you. If VH reunites w/ DLR, we can all bet our asses that a VH BTM won't be far behind. MO

They'd have to make a VH behind the music a 2 part special or something. But they do good work on this show usually...and I'd love to see it happen.

VH Behind The Music would also help boost sales of the VH reunion album, provided they had the timing right.

    Free publicity, it ain't bad

Personally, I'm surprised we haven't seen this sooner.

If VH's new management were smart (not that Ray did such a bad job - Yeah right ) they'd be open to a BTM episode.

But it would have to be a pimptastic 2-hour episode, at that.

No 1-hour BS. Vanilla Ice and Milli Vanilli had 1-hour shows to themselves.

    Please...

Both of those clown-ass acts could have been summed up in fifteen minutes.

(And I'm talking about both of them in the SAME 15 minutes. LOL)

I hope VH don't succumb to BTM. Look at who shows up on there....Motley Crue, Celine Dion, Hammer don't hurt em, Bon Jovi? Has-been's.
I'm sure it would interesting, to say the least, but all that sappy dribble VH-1 tries to protray would totally suck with VH. I can see Samson now, with a tiny tear, "i really miss those guys." Then the drug-use, the splits, the agony of VH....nah.

I think they do a good job with BTM. Yeah there's some bad bands on there sometimes...but they do try to make it interesting even with them. Plus there have been some good bands on there too...Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Ozzy, Chili Peppers, Police...

Steely, you're right...now all the bands are bad that show up on there. Yet most of them don't have a career anymore...or much of one. Chili Peppers, yeah they still do. There are always exceptions.....but to put VH up on BTM would be like saying, "they aren't doing much of anything anymore, so we'll glorize their past." Zepplin was on Legends...which is a little different. They tend to stick to factual happenings rather than cry about the hard times. I can see VH on Legends....leave BTM to Korn.

When BTM started, it was generally about bands that had broken up for one reason or another, and were on the comeback trail. Van HALEN would fit this perfectly, but obviously they couldn't do the show when the last thing the "band" did was the failed VD III tour.

However the triumphant return of Van HALEN would be perfect for the show. As for the likelihood of it happenning....

You know that VH 1 network is up for it. They have been scraping the bottom of the barrel lately with crap like Celine Dion and bands that haven't been around long enough to even have a story!

Dave and Sammy have both appeared on VH 1 shows before. I'm sure they would be up for it. Cherone seems to be willing to talk to the media recently, even though he won't go into details about the demise of Van Danniels.

The big question marks here would seem to be Eddie and Alex. I have heard that they accused MTV (VH 1's parent company) of spinning the 1996 reunion scam story to make the brothers look bad (How the fuck could they have looked any worse???) and had actually refused a past BTM offer.

However, with Time/Warner being a big stakeholder in the cable TV industry, I would not be the least bit surprised to see "Van HALEN : Behind the Music" debut next spring, between the release of their new album and the launch of the biggest tour in history

AS uasual I Have to disagree with you FORD. You are dead wrong once again boy. Van Halen are not a bunch of sellouts. They are TRUE fucking musicians that have enough dough in the bank and DO FUCKING NOT need to promote themselves on VH1. Sounds like something Sammy Hagar would love to do, but not Ed or Al.Think before you drink FORD.Peace out anyways.
