Don't know if anyone's interested in answering this, but I'm curious. A lot of us on this site are in bands, whether full time or part time. What was the biggest/best stage you ever played on, and what was the size of the crowd?

Mine was in this little hick town 60 miles out of Vancouver. It was an outdoor festival, the stage was huge had a shit monitor mix, (surprise surprise), and the crowd was 5000+, I just about shit myself, but it's no different than playing in front of 100 people, after the first few bars, it's all goodhttp://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

I think you are great! You alway make good posts and are always positive! You play guitar like one of the greats. I have absolutely no problem with you! You are one of the few people around here who is always saying good things about everybody, why do you think that I don't like you??

If I pissed you off by asking to hear your band, I apologize! You are a very good player and I was looking foward to hearing your band. Peace my friend.
John

20,000 seat amphitheater, last sumemr during a radio station rock festival. Also on the bill were Kid Rock, Sevendust, Powerman 5000, Staind, and a few others. The stage was big (imagine the size of any outdoor amphitheater stage). It was great. I would have loved to been in the crowd to hear us from the HUGE sound system! Quite a rush!!!

Well, my experience doesn't compare, but I'd say a flat bed semi trailer set up for a block party with about 500 people.

I'm not a rock star (yet), just a lucky guy in a good band. Give me few months and I'll work on the rockstar thing. Just kidding! We do get to play a lot of cool gigs: 5000 people on a stage at the beach, House Of Blues, etc. . .

I think the biggest crowd for me was around 2,000 or so. When we were backstage and they announced that we were the next band, the crowd went apeshit. God, I had the weirdest rush off of that.

The biggest stage that I ever played on was supposedly the stage that Roth used on SKYSCRAPER tour. This was at the Hampton Bay Days in Hampton Va.opening for the Hooters.
Evidently , a guy by the name of Bobby Melatti (who works for Cellar Door prodoctions)bought the stage for general use in the Hampton coliseum.
It was absolutely the BIGGEST fucking stage that I have ever been on and I have played a couple of amphitheaters.
My biggest crowds are just this last April at centennial Olynpic park in Atlanta.about 22,000.The bill was in order TRAIN, SPLENDER,HUMANOLOGY9my band) and then Edwin Mcain.
That is tied with May of 1996 at Townpoint park in Norfolk Va. opening for Del Amitri.
We are going to open for Melissa Etheridge here in Atlanta on june 10th,so hopefully that will be another great big crowd.

My Old band (which i was the only person in it who was dedicated to the band besides the bass player. We are were also the only two who liked VH) played one gig in front of like 30 people. That's it. I am only 14 so wo cares. I'm just getting started
