The version you will be seeing is an extended version of Long Road to Cabo that the director Gil Bettman worked on after the release in Sept 2003 of the original.

It includes more in depth stuff about Sammy and his family, and how he got to where he is today. Gil went back and shot more footage of his family and incorporated that into TLRTC.

It is not the version that will be released early next year that will include the footage from the fans at the B'Day bash last month. I am still collecting/recieving footage from the fans, and will begin editing that in a few weeks.

Thanks,

Paul

Been waiting for your post on this topic :)

Sounds cool, can't wait for the new DVD. Will it have performance footage too?

I'd love to see a dvd of this last summer's mini tour including Mike and los tres gusanos :thumb:

No, THANK YOU! :D

It's really funny.....
I just posted over on the SHML today and directed my question to Paula about this project. I was curious about what film they could *actually* be showing in STL cause I knew it would be WAY too soon for the Part 2 to be done yet.
I also asked when the NEW Part 2 would actually be released and if submissions would be accepted of footage from fans of other Sammy-related things like what the Redheads did here in the States to celebrate when the B-Day was going on in Cabo and of how crazy some of the fans are with collecting Sammy~Stuff...like me with my Sammy~Room! LOL!

What's the scoop here....is it JUST going to be ALL Cabo footage, or will there be OTHER fan footage included in the project??????

JA :)

JA :) At this point I can't promise what will or won't be in the DVD. As you begin editing, it sometimes takes a life of its own and kind of steers you to the final outcome. But I wouldn't turn anything down. If I had a few submissions from fans who didn't make it, it may be easier to incorporate it in.

Things will be starting soon so send it in now(MiniDV or DVD are the best formats). Make sure you send a submission form as well.
