I got the Pretty Women video in a VH collection of old videos ... They told me that the video was banned from MTV ! Why ?
Maybe for the sex stuff it contains , or maybe because it's not a professional video ?
Maybe someone explain me the real stuff ?

I haven't seen it in a long time, but the VHE says angry parents called MTV to complain about the transvestite being fondled by midgets.

If anyone calls MTV to complain about a video then they clearly like the nut sack resting on their chin.

For those of us old enough to remember MTV back in those days, the video stood out in a BIG way. Remember, this was when most videos were singers lip-synching songs and very dull. You remembered this one from the first time you saw it. Like Wolfie3 said too, it shows how times have changed (IT IS almost 20 years!) Apparently, this was too much for parents groups at the time. I thought this video was hillarious back then myself.

I seem to recall hearing the stink was supposedly about the depiction of "women" and their treatment in that video.

To which I seem recall hearing the band stating they don't hate women and think they should be treated like that... in fact there weren't even any women in the video.

Pretty crazy for parents to go nuts over that if you ask me.

You are absolutely right! MTV had banned the regular airplay, then banned the video from rotation completely, because of the "depiction of women." (Quite ironic being that the woman in the video was really a man. Oh! The irony!) Once that label leaked about the video, then there was some minor flack about the treatment or depiction of "Little people" (midgets).

This was pretty much shot out of the water from the get-go! If you have this video on tape somewhere, consider it a rare treasure. MTV has only played it six times since 1982.

still the video is really typical of silly concepts of early videos. i think it is hilarious. ... i freaked when i saw it the first time-"it's a man baby!!!!"

Ten years ago or so, I had this video on VHS tape, but taped over it. Damn, I got to start saving everything, like my parents do.

The video featured a transvestite. Thats why it was banned.
