All the classic WB stuff - Yosemite Sam is my favourite out of that
All the classic Disney stuff
Peanuts - Snoopy rules!
I liked a lot of the Hanna-Barbera stuff, too, back then - Scooby Doo, Wacky Racers, Josie 'n the Pussycats
And of course, on a more modern note - Beavis & Butt-head

I hate that Japanese anime crap that stations show in the middle of the afternoon and my son seems intent on watching.

What a cool topic!

Let's see...where to begin?

I was weaned on Speed Racer, classic Spider Man, the STILL hilarious WB stuff with Bugs, Road Runner and my personal fave, Daffy Duck! I also jammed on The Superfriends, Batman/Tarzan hour, Shazam/Isis (although not a cartoon, per say...I was a Shazam nut!) and really liked all the Voltron/G-Force type shows.

Today, I still love Daffy and Bugs, but also love The Family Guy, Simpsons and PJ's! I think the Family Guy is really underrated but it is a riot!!

I used to wake up each morning and watch Robotech, in its 3 incarnations. Great stuff!

GI Joe and Transformers were right up there too. Some friends and I rented the GI Joe and Transformers movies a few months back. Man, those make for great drinking games!! And let's not even how everyone in GI Joe wanted the BET. Was BET even around back then? http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

Skeletor lived in Snake Mountain.
He-Man guarded the secrets of the elders in Castle Grayskull.
Hordak dwelled over the spooky Fright Zone.

And that's not even counting the other cool playsets they had, like Castle Eternia, Poit Dread, and so on.

He-Man rocked... all the way up to the point in time when they changed the story completely, brought in new artists, and changed the action figures. Not surprisingly it failed. Who wants Skeletor and his evil right hand man Whipor or whatever his name was, when you could have Sekeltor, Beastman, Merman, Skunkor, Two-Bad, Spikeor, Triclops, Trapjaw, Faker He-Man, Clawful, Kobra Khan, and so on.

Who wants just He-Man when you can have He-Man, Teela, Man at Arms, Ramman, Mechaneck, Mossman, Fisto, Orko, and so on.

Yankee, I used to be a comic book FIEND when I was a little flame. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

I stopped collecting when I was around 13, though.

I've got some classic stuff. You remember Rob Liefeld? The guy who used to draw "The New Mutants" for Marvel?

Well, there was this really rare issue, I think it was #87 of the series. It was the first introduction of Cable and one of Rob's early issues.

I actually bought a copy of it for $75.00 back in like 1992. I went to a comic book convention and got him to sign it.

When I handed it to him, he said, "Jesus... You know how hard it is to find one of these? You're lucky, man." http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cool.gif

I also got a picture of Overkill signed by him. That's a character he and Todd McFarlane co-created. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gif

It was a really cool experience and Rob couldn't have been nicer. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

Hey DIF,
I think Rob Liefield's awesome!!!
That's great you got to meet him!
I have the video that Todd and Rob create Overkill in, he's a pretty big villan in Spawn.
I know the issue you are talking about NM #87 I have the 2nd print of it. It's worth less than $75.00 now, Cable's a lot less popular than he used to be.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/redface.gif
Rob's drawing Wolverine now starting next month.
Hey Wes,
Actually Todd started at D.C. but his most well known work was Spider-Man and Incredible Hulk for Marvel. He left Spidey in '91http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cry.gif and started his own character Spawn in '92.
I met Spawn's artist Greg Capullo at a convention, he was really nice too, and signed his first three issues of Spawn for me.
I'm a artist and i'm hopefully going to a convention next month, my dream since I was 11 is to be a comic book penciller.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

I had all the X-Men comics. Even the one from the early 80's that had Cable as a baby.

Jim Lee was the shizzat at drawing the X-Men. Those early 90's were the golden age of Marvel comics. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cool.gif

Hey Flames,
I agree that that Marvel was the best in the eary 90's!!!!!!!
All my favorite artists were working on my favorite books! I kind of wish that Image wasn't formed, because guys like Mcfarlane and Jim Lee don't draw anymore.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/cry.gif They are too busy with running their little companies.
Jim Lee sold his company Wildstorm to D.C. not to long ago. Which I think it kind of weird.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/eek.gif
Speaking of Liefeld he's no longer friends with Mcfarlane, Todd hates him now.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/frown.gif All the Image guys kicked him out of their company, I think he was stealing money from Image.
I like Wolverine's brown costume the best too, I always did. It's more like a animal, I wish he would go back to it.
The X-Men's costumes aren't half as cool in the movie as in the comic, which I agree sucks. Actually in the movie Wolverine say's what's up with these costumes? And Cyclops say's what do you want bright yellow tight's? Or something like that. I thought that was funny.http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

It's interesting to hear about Jim Lee selling his company to DC. I thought all those Image guys hated big business comics. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

I never really got into the Image comics. http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/frown.gif

Just the name "Image" seemed kind of obnoxious to me. I mean, "images" are nice but you can't have a cool comic without a story, too, right? http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Anyway, Todd is a great artisit, but I don't think he's that nice of a guy. He's always seemed cut-throat to me.

Another vote for the original He-Man series here! The best element of the show, and the one sadly missing from both the lame ass movie and the second series, was the sense of humor, mostly embodied by Skeletor, the baddest ass on the planet Eternia http://216.10.25.192/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif
