But surely one of the best perks about being the singer is that before the van is unloaded with the gear, you can have a "primadona tantrum" and disappear while the stage is set up. Then, you can have a "primadona tantrum" at the end of the set (so you don't have to put the gear away)...

..oh yeah - and you're the focal point for the ladies in the audience...!! heh heh!

Okay; so let's get onto a vocalist topic:

Anyone got any good warming up tips? Those top ways to keep your voice in shape all the way through a performance? Here are my tips:

(1) Buy yourself the best mic you can afford. Keeping your voice in top shape by doing scales and rehearsing regularly will be lost if you try and compensate for a crappy microphone. That's the easiest way to blow out your voice. Buy a top-quality mic you're comfortable with. As the vocalist, it's your instrument, so get to know it...and don't be a cheapskate...after all, how much did your guitarist pay for that guitar? In comparison, mics are cheap..!

(2) Always warm up your voice. I like to hum, and casually sing along to whatever's playing in the transport on the way to the gig. Oh yeah...and keep those chords lubricated with the Old No. 7 brand...! http://208.50.7.95/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

(3) Your voice is your friend...you blow it, and you're history...
