Damn you guys....!!! This is the only VH album i really haven't owned in years...Just got it and man!!! I forgot how much it rocked!!! Now if we could get some new stuff
(salivating at the thought)
My fave track off of VH 2 is LIGHT UP THE SKY , that songs kicks ass , especially Al's little drum solo .
Light Up the Sky is my favorite off of VH II as well. Lately I'm really digging Dance the Night Away as well.

Women in love and Beautiful Girls rock. I love Dave's lyrics in those songs.

Classic, classic, classic. VH II is definitely underrated (then again, what wouldn't be following VH I? http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif). It's funny, I just recently re-discovered this album myself, and also forgot how great it was. It's definitely been making this maddening wait a little easier for me. Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Light Up The Sky, Women In Love, Beautiful Girls (can't forget about Spanish Fly, either!) all killer stuff. It just makes you wish even more that they could recapture that magic again. Ahh ... dare we dream.

I really LOVE that record. I was listening to it yesterday in my car-stereo, and Women in Love is a great ballad, Light Up the Sky now ! http://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif

The only reason VHII doesn't get the respect it deserves is because it was the follow up to the greatest debut album ever.
I think it's just about their best album from beginning to end. No filler here. Even though there is only about 32 min. worth of tunes.
The kiss at the end of Beautiful Girls-Classic!
The end of Light Up The Sky "Light 'em up "-Classic!
Bottoms Up "Somebody give me a shot!"-Classic!
Ed's acoustic solo Spanish Fly-Classic
As you can tell I love this CD. Just wish it was a little longer.

"There's a little Van Halen in all of us, and we're just trying to bring it out. It's like something bursts inside of you, something that makes you not care what people around you are thinking. It makes you invincible, like if a car hit you, nothing would happen to you. That experience is about the audience, not us. All we do is provide the soundtrack."

Great Album! I think I ranked it 5th or 6th on the album rankings. Sombody Get Me a Doctor could wake up a dead man, it just rocks. Bottoms up, Outta Love Again and Spanish Fly are also personal fav's. I haven't listened to this album in a while. I think I'm going to have to break it out and play it very soon.

VH2 is a great alblum! I liked the solo
on "Outta Love". It makes me kinda wonder
what kind of an alblum it would of been
had there not been all that "Cocaine"
on the consoles everywhere! http://208.50.7.95/vhlforum/smilies/wink.gifhttp://208.50.7.95/vhlforum/smilies/biggrin.gif

Honest to god, I think Van Halen II is the only VH album I can put on and listen from beginning to end. There isn't a song on there I don't like. There's so many different soundin' songs on there. How can ya beat Ed intro "Women In Love" and Dave's kiss at the end of "Beautiful Girls"
As someone mentioned this album hasn't gotten its' props cuz it was the follow up to one of the all time great rock 'n roll albums. It holds damn well on it's own though!

...i think on the back of the album - dave is air born, lands and breaks his ankle -you see it in a cast - and him holding a cane - i remember ED saying he hated the studio : outta love - unreal ,when i hear it i wanna afflict pain on myself - the tension is captured on that song

Yeah, I think that this one and Diver Down are the two most in need of being beefed up with the remastering. Even though they aren't my two faves, they're probably the ones I'm most looking forward to hearing on Sept. 19.
