Thats right kids, David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and returning bassist Michael Anthony have patched old wounds and are setting their sites on a new album and tour for 2008.
Plans are for them to enter the studio this summer and write and record their first new songs since the brief reunion in 2000 that never fully materialized and the two songs they recorded together for 1996's Greatest Hits cd.
They are hoping for a winter release for the album followed by a spring and summer tour.

You might remember that Eddie's son Wolfgang was set to replace Anthony for a tour this summer, but that tour was scrapped when Eddie entered a rehab facility to get a handle on his alcohol problems. Eddie emerged clean cut and sober earlier this month at a NASCAR event which was a delight for all of his die hard fans, myself being one of them.
Eddie and Michael have talked out there differences and according to my source inside the Van Halen camp Eddie gave Michael a heartfelt apology for his actions of the past few years.

Sounds like a pipedream to me. Especially the part about Ed apologizing to Mike.

Sounds like somebody made this one up. I wouldn't even count on Ed, Al & Dave working things out enought anymore. Now that Ed's sober, he may not want to deal with Dave's crap.

For starters, BS. Also, this guy obviously is no journalist, as he didn't choose the right word up there. Should be "their differences" for crying out loud. Errors like that send up the bullshit alert in a hurry.

sounds too good to be true. but you never know. they are people just like you and me. Part of Ed's recovery is to make amends for his mistakes right?

I agree with Zorba... I cant rule it out totally as one of the 12 steps of AA.. if he is using them to help him quit booze... is to be brutally honest and to make amends.

I'm not holding my breath, but then, this is Van Halen, anything is possible.

I remember one of those"insider" guys here saying in a thread that Mike wearing that "I support ppl in rehab" shirt and saying "i miss ya Ed and love ya buddy" went a long way with Ed and he called him soon as he got out....

micheal anthony is not in van halen. there is nothing to patch up!! wolfgang is the bass player for van halen!!

No. He played bass on the two BOV1 tracks, and he played bass for a few songs on VH III.

Once again. The only VH tracks Mike has not played on were the three new BOBW tracks and several - but not all - tracks on III.
