If they are playing 25 tunes, I'm guessing they won't have an opener...

Alter Bridge would be a great choice especially since Tremonti is a big VH fan.

Sorry, not understanding that thinking.

Are they gonna be giving away free tomatoes with each ticket purchase?

The Chili Peppers had some guy named Mickey Avalon open for them on their last tour.

I never heard so many people boo someone thru out their whole set. Frusciante really dug Micky and let a couple of fans know how he felt about their booing.

Anyway... VH has a history of giving some up an comer a break.

Some one in the band must dig this cat.

The fans on the other hand....

has anyone read this thread?

ok--said it in another thread but bands like POLICE and VH at this point in time should NOT have openers--play 3 hrs or take an intermission. If RUSH and even JAMES TAYLOR can do it, why not vh--and don't give me the BS about their high energy show. This is their 'job' so they can work for 3 hours instead of 2, for what they are charging for tix.

Van Halen usually has some sorry asses opening for them,

Everytime I saw them with Dave they had some puke open

Once it was some band called the Cats?Net it was After the Fire, you know they did that song that was a big hit on top 40 radio one version in English, one in German, what was that tune?I can hear the guitar part and the lyrics were about oh yeah Der Comisar's in town uh oh.

Any way that show people were throwin things at them, the keyboard player was flippin people off,it was weird.

The only time I saw Van Halen with a halfway decent opening act was in 04,it was silvertide or soundchair or something, they had a good hard rock sound and a hit on radio

I think Van Halen has always been a little cautious about who they have open their shows because of what they themselves did to Black Sabbath back in 78

Shinedown :barf:

Worst opening act I'd ever seen, especially since they were opening for VH. Get some sorry-ass '80s sounding band who would for sure not blow VH away.

Can't stand them, but a good idea. I'd have to take a 45 minute piss break during their set :D

I'm all in for Alter Bridge!!!! Or Shinedown! But I'm also hopeing they will tour together this year!!
I never saw Shinedown open for Van Halen but I did see them as an opener, there nothing like they are now! I saw them last Dec. in Knoxville as a headliner and they blew the place apart!!!!! I'm going to see them this Sunday in Asheville NC.

It was some crappy outfit called Mr. North in Vegas '04. Thankfully, it wasn't Peter North, cause we had seats in the Golden Rings, and I didn't want Pete to shoot an 8-roper on my wife.

I'd go with Alter Bridge. Would be a rockin' Package. Definately should be a Band which knows how to fire it up. I saw Van Halen back in 95 as "Support" of Bon Jovi (???) and they tore the Place apart. Something like that would be cool.
