Here is a quote from country singer Toby Keith from a pioneer press reporter in Nashville, Sounds like it could be interesting.
There's a lot of crazy things jumping around that are being looked at by attorneys right now," he said. "Like there's a project Sammy Hagar wants to do for me. He's a good friend of mine, and he's got a bunch of really cool roadhouse-blues-type songs. They're very un-Sammy and very un-Van Halen. They're really good and really rootsy."
Maybe they'll make a whole album of worship songs for their Lord and Master, that stupid fucking murderous Chimp in the White House?

Oh God.... :yell:
I wish he would stop with the good time vibes and strange collaborations and make a kick ass rock album with VH (sans the beach and tequila vibe).
Call Ed and Al now and lets go....
Toby Keith might be a great entertainer....but it ends there for me. Too phony.
I do like the idea of Sam doing something different.....I've got a boot of Sammy doing some blues shit at Cabo...back during his VH days....kind of cool.

WTF would either of these guys know about the blues or be able to play the blues? To truly be able to play the blues you need some kinda soul.
Here is a picture I took at the OKC show. TK made a surprise appearance during Sammy's solo. This is them doing "I Love This Bar". Very cool. Can't wait to see what kind of stuff they come up with together. And whether he is singing the stuff or TK is, all I am concerned about is hearing good music.

I wouldn't mind seeing a project with these 2. It will let Sammy get his creativity out before re-joining Van Halen. ;)

Hey, I like that! Let Sammy get his creativity out. He certainly won't need it for Van Halen.
Many of you are being a bit hypocritical. This is exactly the kind of stuff we wish Eddie would get of his ass and do. A bit of solo stuff, a bit of VH, a bit of mixing it up with different artists, different styles, different sounds.
Good on Sammy, he's a musician, and he's out there doing whatever feels good, jamming with friends and peers.
He's said it before, why would you get involved with something that requires leaving through separate doors and occasionally throwing punches? Nobody needs that.

I have no problem with it.

 I hope Sammy never does any songs with Tobey Keith. I am not a country fan, I am a rock n' roll fan.
Get back with Van Halen Sammy.

I wouldn't want Eddie to play with garbage "musicians" like Toby Keith or some popstars. Toby's best song came out on his debut album about 13 years ago.

Sammy knows Toby Keith can sell records and he cant.....Once again its a business decision.........

You are missing the point.
And while i'm not a huge country fan, i'd give alot more credit to Toby Keith than many that come off 16th avenue in Nashville. But, that's not the point.
When you get into music, you do it for the women, the money, the free booze, whatever.
When you've got all the money, can have any woman, and have drank and drugged yourself silly, you can do a couple of things.
1) Lock yourself in your house and tell the world you are planning your return.
2) Go out and play and do it because it's fun and you enjoy playing. Hang out with musicians from different walks and see what noise you can make.
If you don't like Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Ted Nugent the guys from Montrose or whomever else Sammy decides to jam with on any given night, i can assure you he doesn't give a fuck. He has done his time, made some smart investments, paid his dues and is now doing what he wants. Some guys retire and buy a boat, or play golf or whatever. Sammy is semi-retired and is doing what he loves for fun. Going out on a gruelling tour with the behemoth that VH has become is not fun. Arguing with Eddie about this that and the other thing is not fun. So why do it?

They make a cute couple.
*(Not worth the time to do the "Brokeback Toby" art, but I'm sure
you can still see it).

I don't care if he gives a d@mn if I like him or not. He's not a good musician no matter how much money he makes, how many hick women he gets, or how much he drinks. If you give credit to them, then you have to get the same credit to the likes of Ashlee Simpson and others.
Why would I want to hear their sh!tty music when there is actually good music to hear? Doesn't make alot of sense from a music fans point of view.
If it was for the old men in nice suits Toby would be doing the samething as
most people here. WORKING FOR A LIVING. mmmkkky?
Ed and the boys have given us a lifetimes worth.... Besides, if he did some other than wallow in arena rock the fans would reject it anyway.

Yep, dead on post :thumb: So many people are jealous of Sammy having fun or making money or whatever else they wanna cry about. The guy is a versatile musician, not being narrow-minded and restricting himself into one thing. I don't care much for country or whatever Toby Keith is, but Sammy does what he wants and has fun doing it, more power to him
